1. When did you realize that photography was your passion?photography and arts were always in the back-ground of my life. my father had a big passion for photography and as a young boy i was constantly exposed to this particular form of art. as kids, me and my younger sister , we used to make lots of pho-tograms in my dad’s darkroom. it was only a matter of time for me to finally hold my first camera

2. When did you start photograph with film?at the age of 15 i bought a small 3mp digital camera. it was an awful camera but i loved it. First i was documenting everything, shooting stuff without really thinking.about a year later i started taking photography a bit more seriously and my 3mp Sony wasn’t good enough anymore for my needs, i remember going through my dad’s stuff and find his faithful pentax K1000. i immediately fell for it and i guess that’s where it all started.

3. What is your main inspiration?the whole world gives me inspiration, sometimes it’s the smallest things that push me to create. i believe that the secret is not what you see, it’s how you look at things.

4. if you have to photograph in one location, where it would be?the moon! kinda out there and unrealistic i know, but when i look at all those naSa photographs from the 1969 moon landing i get this sad feeling, i wish i was there.

5. Favorite roll of film.it’s hard pointing out only one roll of film.i really love Lomography’s greys (lady & earl grey)and my latest passion is tungsten films.

6. List of cameras and which one is your favorite?pentax Spotmatic ii, Kiev 19, Kowa/Six, Lomogra-phy fisheye, praktica Super tL, zorki-4, zenit 12Xp and topcon Wink S.it’s really hard to choose, but if i had to point out only one i guess i’d say that, at this moment, the Kiev 19 is my favorite.

7. one thing you really love to shot?cats! they never get boring.

8. is analog photography changed you in some way?of course, when shooting with an analog camera as opposed to a digital one, you cannot afford to take lots of pictures and then choosing the best ones, every frame count! So, with the constant chase after that one amaz-ing frame, i noticed that my whole way of looking at the world changed. i started viewing the world through the camera lens, even when i’m walking around without any camera. Small details and the way things are positioned in spaces became more noticeable for me, and i love it.

9. What was the craziest thing you shoot?once i took a picture of a dead-run-over cat, his intestines and internal organs were spread on the road. as a big animal lover and an owner of four cats, taking this photo was really intense for me.

10. do you take your camera to everywhere?Yes, i can’t get out my house without at least one camera in my bag.

1. When did you realize that photography was your passion?Since i’m too lazy for painting, i had to find myself a way to communicate my ideas. i first came to real-ize photography was the perfect tool for me, when traveling in thailand – the ability to catch the es-sence of a place was something i couldn’t resist, and was totally taken by the medium.

2. When did you start photograph with film?i started taking pictures when digital photogra-phy was only a rumor – sometimes in the mid 90’s. after a few years of shooting film, i had to switch to digital if i wanted to make a living out of it, so i did. i came back to shooting film exclusively only when i found out that the digital medium was slowly killing my creativity

3. What is your main inspiration?i find great interest in places where nature interacts with human. i have a tendency to become spiritual when i stand in specific places and try to connect and capture the vibe i feel.

4. if you have to photograph in one location, where it would be?outside.

5. Favorite roll of film.every kind of emulsion has its strength and weak-nesses. i particularly like Kodak’s ektar for color and Kodak’s tmax for BW. i have very little experience with slide film, but whenever i shoot it, i am always in total amazement.

6. List of cameras and which one is your favorite?my cameras: medium format: mamiya 645e, has-selblad eLm. 35 mm: nikon f60, praktica mtL3.i like all of them! if i’m pressed against the wall, i would pick the hasselblad as my favorite in terms of image quality – the planar lens is magical!

7. one thing you really love to shot?my daughter! But that’s too personal for publish-ing. the next favorite thing must be landscape. i love the search after the magical and divine ele-ments in nature.

8. is analog photography changed you in some way?analog photography made me slow down and be more patient and reflective. i love the restrictions that are part of the medium, and the fact that i can’t review my picture in real time.

9. What was the craziest thing you shoot?myself!

10. do you take your camera to everywhere?no. i take my camera only when i get out taking pictures. i don’t photograph all the time. What i love about film is that you don’t end up with end-less amount of pictures. my photography sessions are few and i take them seriously.

11.is there any piece of advice you can give? any tips?the best advice i can give to everyone with creative aspira-tions is the same – just keep looking inside as much as you look outside.

1. When did you realize that photography was your passion? i actually don’t really remember! i think since i was like 14, i enjoyed making portraits of some of my best friends and family, but with a digital camera. they were quite good, but when i look at them today i laugh really hard and think where i was back then and where am i today.. Film photography is a completely different world.

2. When did you start photograph with film?i think it was around 11th grade in highschool, like 4 years ago. i met a German guy in a kind of stu-dent exchange, who was very deep in this world of analogue photography. at first i thought it was an annoying hobby and couldn’t understand why he’s enjoying this so much, but something in me was very curious about it, so he showed me his tricks and very cool cameras he got and the awesome pictures that come out in the end, the whole “busi-ness” seemed really excited for me, so i decided to try it myself, and since then i can’t stop..(:

3. What is your main inspiration?i find inspiration almost in every corner.. inspira-tion is everywhere, you just have to be in the right mood!

4. if you have to photograph in one location, where it would be?if i could choose a whole city i’d choose jerusalem - so much beauty and inspiration in this amazing city. i had the pleasure to spend one great year over there and i’d love to spend some more. there’s always something more to see and i feel i can always expect surprising things to appear.

5. Favorite roll of film.i don’t think i have a favorite one, i enjoy trying different kinds, mostly expired films..it’s surprising, you never knows what to expect.

6. List of cameras and which one is your favorite?diana mini, Lomo Fisheye , Lomo sporocket rocket, olympus mjuii .

7. one thing you really love to shot?the trees in my backyard, urban landscapes, graf-fiti.

8. is analog photography changed you in some way?it made me more patient for sure (waiting for the film and all that...), i think it also changed the way i look around me, know that my good next shot can be anywhere.

9. What was the craziest thing you shoot?5 of my best guy-friends stood almost naked on a hill in the middle of the desert with only hats covering their private areas . i was the only one that agreed to accept this challenge..

10. do you take your camera to everywhere?Yes, my compact camera goes with me everywhere i go - who knows where inspiration can take over.

11. is there any piece of advice you can give? any tips?don’t be afraid to just shoot, without too many preparations and thinking, that might surprise you. and also don’t be afraid to “make mistakes”, the best things in a photo might be those “mistakes”.

12. What is the future?analogue, no doubt

13. Wishes?Feel inspired every day.. i think everyone should wish for that

aVI FlOYd COHEN1. When did you realize that photography was your passion?as a child i always love to look at photos, and as i remember myself i have a tendency to document. photography always interested me and i think i real-ize that this is my passion when i understand that photography has the power like painting.

2. When did you start photograph with film?i was 15 years old when i got my first digital cam-era. When i was 19 my father told me that i should photograph with film if i want to be a better photog-rapher. after several days we went to the flea market and he bought for me nikon eL2 and zenit-e, after one week i got pentax k1000 and then i fell in love with film.

3. What is your main inspiration?music, i think the way i interpret songs is very evident in my pictures. i always get ideas from the music i listen to. tumblr, Flickr, other photogra-phers also inspires me a lot and of course the people surround me.

4. if you have to photograph in one location, where it would be?nature, i love the way the human connect with nature and the combination between them.

5. Favorite roll of film.Fuji superia X-tra 400 for color negative, Kodak t-max 400 for Black and white.i don’t have enough experience with slides but i used Fuji 400h and really like it.

6. List of cameras and which one is your favorite?i collect cameras so i keep buying a lot of cameras.my cameras: nikon eL2 , zenit-e , pentax K1000, canon canonet 28 , Fed2, minolta 7s, minolta dynax 300i,holga 135, recesky tLr , voigtlander Bessa (folding camera) , Braun Gloriette vero and polaroid sx-70. i like all of them and every camera have a story, but i choose pentax K1000.

7. one thing you really love to shot?people, i find it very interesting. especially creative self-portrait, it’s always a challenge to make a crea-tive self-portrait.

8. is analog photography changed you in some way?analog really changed me. You have to slow down and think, be creative and then shot. i really like the technical part of analog when you don’t have light matter; you have to trust yourself and wait to see what happen. analog it’s a different story.

9. What was the craziest thing you shoot?if i say punk shows it will be a lie, it’s crazy but i do it at least 2 times a month. i will say the craziest thing was very exposed portraits at scary locations, people are crazy, i’m crazy, and it’s ok.

10. do you take your camera to everywhere?Yes, since i discover the disposable cameras. it’s little, quality and really really lightweight.
