Avantika: Paradigm ShiftA shift that will offset the stagnation in current education system is the need of the hour. Avantika at its very outset envisions creating agents of change by imparting in them a keen sense of social responsibility, creative analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The university envisages an environment where students are empowered to deal with diversity and change, and are equipped to apply their knowledge to combat real-world challenges.

The inter-disciplinary, integrative and immersive approach of learning will help augment the quality of higher education, providing qualitative, relevant and contemporary education. This initiative to provide a solid foundation of liberal education will address the current and futuristic need to create holistic individuals.

Learners at Avantika would be the harbingers of change, challenging the status quo and look at problems more comprehensively. The freedom of thinking is non-negotiable in this university.

Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER), Pune is poised to unveil a unique education model that integrates liberal education with design and engineering. The thought behind this endeavour, as conceived and envisioned by Prof. Vishwanath D. Karad, is to revive the status of Ujjain as a leading center of knowledge, thereby preserving its history and contributing towards the welfare of society.

09

The approach is to teach how to think and not what to think.

Design at Avantika is an active verb and not a passive noun. This spirit is embedded across all the programs at Avantika. Design centric learning at Avantika starts with engaging learners to confront challenges. The learners will solve these challenges through analysis, reflection, ideation, synthesis, prototyping and testing the impact.

As the academic program progresses, these challenges change in terms of their scale, complexity and ambiguity involved. Learners invest energy, time and effort in these tasks. This approach leads them to ask questions and seek answers by reflection, collaboration, and interaction. The faculty members act as facilitators and collaborators in this endeavor. Learning at Avantika is just-in-time and not just-in-case.
