Welcome! The Missouri Educational Technology Leaders (METL) welcomes you to our 2013 Missouri CTO Clinic, co-sponsored by the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN). Our conference theme this year is “Innovative Leadership for 21st Century Learning”. This clinic and the time you will spend with your peers will help you develop your capacity to lead technology initiatives with long-term, big-picture perspectives. The focus is about creating a vision of how technology will deliver 21st century learning environments and meet educational goals. Our afternoon keynote speaker will be Dr. Ronald Ferguson from Harvard University speaking on the topic “Technology Leadership Supporting Closing the Gap”. Paul Sims, PhD, Concordia University Chicago Paul Sims will give our keynote address, "Two Leadership Styles Worth Considering." Paul, an associate professor of Educational Leadership at Concordia University Chicago, teaches courses about instructional and supervisory leadership at the masters and doctoral levels. Dr. Sims will use his diverse professional experiences at the high school and university levels to ask: Are you a leader? Is so, how do moral and service leadership theories fit into your everyday life? This session will invite you to think about your leadership style and how it applies to your current position.

Ronald F. Ferguson, PhD, Harvard University Ronald F. Ferguson, PhD, is an MIT-trained economist whose research, teaching, writing, and consulting over three decades have focused on economic, social, and educational challenges in urban America. Issues of racial and ethnic inequality have been central in his work. He is currently a faculty member at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and Graduate School of Education. Dr. Ferguson’s research and publications cover issues in education policy, youth development programming, community development, economic consequences of skill disparities, and state and local economic development policy. In addition to his teaching and

research, Dr. Ferguson has participated in numerous consulting and policy roles. He organized the National Community Development Policy Analysis Network (NCDPAN) in 1995, the Tripod Project for School Improvement in 2001, and the Achievement Gap Institute (AGI) at Harvard in 2005.
