Mississippi Action for Progress, Inc., a large early childhood development program serving Lee, Monroe, and Pontotoc Counties is hiring for the 2019 - 2020 school year for the following positions: Teacher Responsibilities include planning, implementation, and the integration of Early Childhood Education activities for assigned children in a manner that contributes to their growth and development and in accordance with best practices for serving young children, and the Head Start Performance Standards. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Studies, or related discipline, with a minimum of eighteen (18) hours in Early Childhood Education, and at least six months experience in a preschool/child development program. Minimum Qualifications: AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Technology (CDT), and at least one year experience in a child development program. Teacher Aide - Under the supervision of the classroom teacher, assists teacher in providing quality early childhood education learning experiences. Desired Qualifications: AA Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development Technology, or related discipline, with one a minimum of eighteen (18) hours in Early Childhood Education, and (1) year experience working with preschool children. Minimum Qualifications: Child Development Credential (CDA), and currently pursuing an AA Degree in Early Childhood or related discipline. Family Community Worker (FCW) - Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Work, Human Services, or related discipline to include course work in the principles of social work, and a minimum of six months experience in a family social services setting, that includes case management, and experience in referring families in need to community resource services. Reliable vehicle with proof of insurance, and a valid MS Driver’s License required. Assistant Cook - Desired Qualifications: Under the supervision of the Head Cook, this position is responsible for assisting with food preparation and the delivery of healthy snacks and meals as designed by the Agency. Serv-Safe Certification and twelve college hours preferred. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma and two (2) years related experience, preferably in a pre-school environment. Bus Monitor: Under the supervision of the Center Administrator, responsible for the supervision of children while being transported. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and one year experience working with preschool children. Janitor: Under the supervision of the Center Administrator, responsible for the orderliness and overall good appearance of the buildings and grounds. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of related experience preferred. The Agency reserves the right to measure qualifications and work experience. Center Administrator - Tupelo

This Position is for a Center Administrator with an early childhood development center

serving Yazoo County. Under the direct supervision of the Regional Administrator,

incumbent will be responsible for the overall day to day operational management and

daily on-site supervision of staff and volunteers at this Head Start location.

Incumbent duties also include: Ensuring applicable local, state, and federal childcare

guidelines/regulations are met; Providing a safe and efficient environment for staff and

children; Ensuring center is in compliance with staff/child ratio at all times; Informing the

Regional Administrator of staffing needs and changes immediately; Orientating new staff

at the onset of employment; Overseeing the center’s transportation system; and

monitoring/supervising the center’s distribution and inventory of supplies.

Desired Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Human

Resources, or equivalent combination with three (3) years of demonstrated experience

in management, administration and supervision of a childcare facility, or related social

service program. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood

Education (ECE), Human Resources, or equivalent combination with five (5) years of

demonstrated experience in management and supervision of a childcare facility, office

management, case management, or related social service program;

Position requires travel, some overnight. Valid MS Driver’s License and access to a

reliable vehicle required.
