“…You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth.”- Acts 1:8

It’s our vision at The Crossing Church that the incredible news of the Gospel will spread from this place like a raging wildfire, igniting hearts and minds for God, and changing lives forever for Him. To accomplish this, we are active across the street and around the world in spreading His message and the amazing story of His love for us. Acts 1:8 tells us that Jesus sent His followers out into Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the Earth.

We follow this structure by: • Changing our city Jerusalem • Impacting our state Judea • Reaching our country Samaria • Touching our world Ends of the Earth

In the following pages, you will see what we are doing to impact each region. But we need your help. Without you we can not get the job done. Without you we can not make a difference in this world. Without you we can not change lives. There are three ways to be involved. You can pray. You can give. You can go. If you are willing to commit to praying for us, please pick a project on the next few pages and lift it up in prayer. If you will give, please continue to support The Crossing Church, which partners with all of these ministries. This money will be used to help people and supplies reach those that need them the most. If you will go, prayerfully consider which project God is lay-ing on your heart and then contact us. Jesus said in Luke 10:2 that, “the har-vest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Pray, therefore, that the Lord of the Harvest will send more workers into the harvest field.” The harvest is those that have yet to trust their lives to Christ. The workers are those who will pray, give, and go. We are praying for more workers. We are praying for you.

For His glory, Scott McIntosh Missions Pastor The Crossing Church

Mark your calendars and plan for your family to participate in the largest Christ-centered event in Tampa Bay’s history. The Luis Palau Music Festival is coming to Raymond James stadium March 3 & 4. We are expecting over 200,000 in atten-dance. The Crossing has com-mitted to send 1,000 volunteers to assist in the many areas of the festival (counselors, parking, ticket sales, drinks, clean up, security, info booths, greeters, and ushers). Go as a family and enjoy the free festivities: Christian concerts, children’s area, skateboarding and BMX demos, community service,

sports area, etc. Stop by the tent after service to register as a vol-unteer.

Visit www.tampabayfestival.com for more information. If you want to serve with other Crossing mem-bers, please do not register on the Luis Palau website.

The children of Clair-Mel are surrounded by drugs, prostitu-tion, abuse, violence, etc. This is an area of town that is just 2 miles from our church and where a huge impact can be made in breaking the negative cycles of these families. Clair-Mel El-ementary is in need of positive

role models to interact with stu-dents in the library, classroom, during lunch, after school, etc. Be a part of changing a commu-nity one life at a time. Coordinator Josh [email protected] 813-842-0179

This is a group of The Cross-ing Church volunteers who have been led by God to be action oriented in serving the commu-nity. They are willing to perform an array of services to help those in need with small home repairs, yard work, random acts of kind-ness, etc. They are available to assist the underprivileged, single mothers, military families, the el-derly, etc. Volunteers are needed

with trade experience (plumbing, electrical, mechanic, carpentry, painting, landscaping, etc.), but these are not necessary to vol-unteer. Those in need of service need to complete an Application of Need from the church office.

This is a nursing home and rehabilitation of 165 residents who range from the 20’s – 100’s. Ninety percent of the residents have no visitors. Volunteers are needed to play cards, watch TV, do nails/hair, or just visit and talk to residents. Help brighten these residents’ day by volun-

teering and showing the love of Christ. Cathy takes volunteers to visit residents every 2nd Saturday (10:30 am – 12:30 pm).

Following a major disaster, first responders who provide fire and medical services will not be able to meet the demand for these services. Factors such as number of victims, communica-tion failures, and road block-ages will prevent people from accessing emergency services they have come to expect at a moment’s notice through 911. People will have to rely on each other for help in order to meet their immediate life saving and life sustaining needs.

The Crossing Church is orga-nizing a team of volunteers to be trained to be “first responders” in case of a major disaster in Hill-

sborough County. We want our church to be prepared and proac-tive in responding to the com-munity’s needs in the time of a disaster. Volunteers are trained through C.E.R.F (Christian Emergency Response Force), a part of C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) to handle an array of emergencies such as fire, search and rescue, medical, psychological, etc.

Everyday Blessings is a tem-porary home for children in the foster/adoptive system. They can accommodate 30 children at the facility and stay at full capacity. Although their greatest need is a permanent home, inter-action with outside families is a great blessing for these children and their caregivers. Volunteers are also needed to mentor, tutor, assist in the daycare, participate in activities, assist with busi-ness, financial, fundraising, and event planning for the facility. There is a volunteer orientation to attend. Agency Volunteer CoordinatorAnita Williams 813-982-9226 www.everybless.org

This is a Christian residential program that serves women coming from the Hillsborough County jail system, women who have already demonstrated a desire to lead productive lives. Working through volunteers and partnering agencies, they offer women leaving the prison system a bus pass, a Bible and a personal plan including people agencies and additional resourc-es to assist them in making a successful re-entry into society.

Volunteers are needed to lead Bible studies, mentor women and/or teach a class (cook-ing, sewing, crafts, gardening, beauty, decorating, etc).

Their mission is to improve the lives of family violence victims through community collaboration and the provision of comprehensive services in a single location. Very simply, they are a one-stop-shop for domestic violence victims. Previously, a domestic violence victim would face a logistical nightmare of driving to numer-ous places and working with various agencies that are not connected. This made it very dif-ficult to hold the batter account-able, as well as deterred the victim from accessing needed

services. Now with FJC, there are nearly 40 agencies under one roof, all working together, for the domestic violence victim and her family. FJC is welcoming the commu-nity to become more involved in reducing domestic violence in Hillsborough County. There are a number of ways to help, including becoming a Partner, intern, volunteer and/or donor. Agency Volunteer Coordinator Jennifer Street [email protected]

Amazing Love ministries provides hot meals, bag lunches, clothing and toiletries to the people living on the streets of downtown Tampa. Currently they meet on the corner of Zach St. and Ashley St. in Curtis Hix-on Park on Mondays at 7:00 pm. Meeting the spiritual needs of the people is the primary func-tion of the ministry, and they in-vite all participants to join their prayer group after the meal is served. They have been blessed by prayer, music and personal testimonies of volunteers as well

as by those they serve. An invi-tation is given for the unsaved who desire to turn their lives and hearts over to Jesus Christ. This ministry is operated and supported solely by volunteers. Hot meals are provided by a different church every Monday. Clothing, toiletries and other food items are provided by indi-vidual donations. The Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO) provides food and clothing to those in need of short term assistance in the Brandon Area. Client refer-rals come from the Department of Children and Family Servic-es, local churches, schools, and related organizations. No funding is received from any local, state or federal funding agency. ECHO is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Except in cases of extreme emergencies, ECHO’s policy is to treat each

person with respect, dignity and compassion.

Our goal is to help each per-son in their emergency and to foster self-reliance, focusing on personal independence regard-less of race, sex, national origin or creed. Needed items are as follows: non-perishable food items, new children’s shoes, per-sonal care items, small house-hold items, blankets, towels, washcloths, diapers, and baby formula.

Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans hard and the re-build-ing will still take years. This is an opportunity for us to help in this re-building. Katie and Nate Tyler grew up attending Cross-town Community Church, now known as The Crossing Church. After moving to New Orleans for Nate to attend seminary, hurricane Katrina devastated their home, Nate’s school and the church where Nate & Katie were very involved with the

youth. They relocated back to Tampa to begin again, and Micah, their beautiful baby boy, was born soon after. God has pulled on their heart strings and they feel called to go back to New Orleans to help in the re-building of their once beauti-ful community. This is a con-struction trip, but you will have many opportunities to share your story of the love of God with the people in this broken area of New Orleans.

Kaw Valley Association is an organization headed to the American Indian Reservations in Kansas to do outreach, and this will be the second sum-mer working in Kansas with the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. Daniel Goombi, an American Indian, along with his wife Kimberly and their 1 year old daughter, is very excited about this opportunity. We will be doing VBS for all ages, in

addition to helping the Boys and Girls Club with sports camp. Their goal is to build churches on these reservations so that individuals may have the op-portunity to go to a church lead by a fellow tribesman that will guide them in their relationship with Christ. At this point they meet only once a month for a Bible study because most of them do not have transportation into town.

She awoke at dawn to wa-ter the sheep and put them to pasture. This day will be a long one. After cycling and gather-ing the wheat all day, she walks with her heavy load up the hill. She is called into a neighbor’s home. What could all the com-motion be? Her muscles are tired and in knots from her days labor. A foreign woman greets her as she enters with a hug and a kiss. She is asked to sit down

and soak her feet. The warm water is soothing to her aching callused feet. As the strangers sing with joyful voices, they massage her neck, back, arms, legs and her feet. There is peace in her heart. Jesus gave the per-fect example of how to humble ourselves before each other. He washed feet. With obstacles such as language, culture and re-ligion, what better way to reach the lost?
