Mission Viejo Recycling News Spring 2020 Waste Management has proudly partnered with the City of Mission Viejo to sponsor free quarterly shredding events for Mission Viejo residents and business owners in 2020! Disposal of up to 10 banker-size file boxes (24” wide x 12” high) is permitted. Please ensure all documents and boxes are free of binders, paper clips, plastic sleeves and metal butterfly clips. Items not accepted include CDs, credit cards, three-ring binders, wire dividers, newspapers, magazines and spiral notebooks. Free Bulky Item Pick-UpSpring Cleaning? Let us help! Mission Viejo residents may request three (3) free bulky item pick-ups per year. We will retrieve up to five (5) large items, such as furniture or appliances, or up to 20 bags of trash or yard waste (less than 50 pounds) for each request. Electronic waste, such as TVs, computers, monitors and DVDs, is also included in this program. Please call the Customer Service Center at (949) 642-1191 at least 48 hours in advance of your collection day to schedule a pick-up.

Waste Management observes the following holidays:

Residential collection service will be delayed one day following the above holidays. If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be no delay.

Senior Citizen DiscountWaste Management and the City of Mission Viejo are pleased to offer discounted rates of 20% for qualifying residential senior customers.

How do I qualify for the Senior Citizen Discount?• Must provide proof of 65 years of age or older• Must own or rent/lease the home• Must be responsible for payment of the waste bill

If you would like information on protecting your home from flooding and repairing damage, the City of Mission Viejo maintains many publications produced by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). These publications are available for review at the Mission Viejo Library or Public Works Department at City Hall.
