MTH Canada is currently in the process of completing an extensive application form from the Canadian International Development Agency. Government approval of our application will allow us to have access to significant government funds which would be used to build hurricane and earthquake resistant houses on a parcel of land that has been set aside near the campus in Messailler. We have already shown a Haitian construction crew how to build this type of house on our last trip in April 2010 when one was built on the campus in Messailler. The parcel of land (Shown in picture on right) is likely to have room for at least 35 houses and it is our hope to get the Haitian construction crew started on this project in early 2011 and

we intend to be involved in the beginning of this project in January. Completing this necessary government application requires a lot of time and effort from the volunteers on the board and we hope to have this completed by the end of this year.

The child sponsorship program continues to be a successful program and you are currently helping us provide hope through education to 175 children. Your donations help to pay for their tuition, books, school uniform and in most cases a nutritious meal. As in other years you have the opportunity to send a personalized gift box to your sponsor child; if you don’t have a sponsor child but would like to send a gift to a needy child we will be sure that it arrives in Haiti and is given to a grateful young person. Specific boxes are provided to hold your gifts so that we can efficiently pack them and transport them to Haiti. There is a list available suggesting what are good

items to consider including in your gift box as well as for those that are advised against for various reasons. All boxes must be received by December 26th, 2010 or they will not make it on this trip. Thanks to the volunteers that make this child sponsorship program run so smoothly. Because of their effort, every cent of your donated money ends up being used for the children. Please pray that this program will continue to be effective in serving the needs of the children of Haiti and that it would continue to be blessed.

This year marks a new landmark in regard to mission trips as we are arranging two separate two week mission trips in January in addition to the trips in March and April 2011. The first trip is scheduled for Jan 10-21, 2011 and applications for this group are no longer being accepted

as it is full. The second trip is a construction only group and is for January 24 through February 4, 2011 and this group is also full. The third trip will be March 10 - 21, 2011 and there is limited availability for this trip so be sure to apply immediately if you would like to be considered. The cost for serving on these trips is currently $1,600 (Cdn). If you would like more information or a team

application you can visit our website or contact Jack Streef or Glenn Reinders. On the first January, we anticipate undertaking construction projects, performing health assessments and treatments with qualified medical personnel, food distribution, and child sponsorship administration. The trips in January and in March will be focused solely on construction. The April trip will be predominantly medical. Please

prayerfully consider if God is calling you to serve on one of these teams; we appreciate your prayer support year round and especially for safety while we are in the mission field.

MTH Canada is currently considering a placement for a longer term missions person to serve at the campus in Messailler. We will update you as more information and clarity arises in regard to this exciting opportunity.
