There was a boy who named Luke Gardiner at the age of eight he lost his parents, after they were both killed when a bus had lost control on the wet pavement at. Luke Gardiner had to live with the only relative he had, Uncle Pete, who unfortunately was drunk. During times when he was actually sober, Luke had to make do with his constant saying that Luke was lucky to have him because he saved him from the streets so Luke can’t do anything but be his houseboy under his care When his uncle was drunk, he slapped Luke, always finding something wrong to address to. He ran away four times but the police always brought him back to his uncle. What’s worse is the fact that he was also teased to no end in school for clothes (he grew up fast) and simple because he lived with the town drunk. 

Summary:

One day Army Air forces personnel came to town and set up their recruiting stand on Framingham’s. The officer explained everything to Luke; he must pass the medical and physical in Boston. Four weeks later he received a notification that he was passing and accepted to the test. His Uncle Pete brought him to Boston; Uncle Pete gave Luke 20 dollars for his necessities and other expenses.

Luke didn’t know that, it was the last time they see each other. Luke didn’t stop a letter for his girlfriend Priscilla. He promised that when he comes back he could marry Priscilla. He narrated all the happenings in him and his profession as a bombardier. Their team was successful on their first mission so that they task to have another mission England. His team was happy they celebrated. As the mission goes by they were successful in their all mission. They got a vacation or break from their work as a bombardier. But Luke was introduce by his commandant to Phonix the reporter, they were become good friends. Phonix gave Luke a calling card for his accommodation in London. Luke phoned Winnie Marslow for his reservation on Mathew’s court, it is like a sanctuary a peaceful and well organized place. Luke was look alike by her son. They talk the life of each other. Winnie treated Luke as her son. She gave Luke a piece of advice and steps on how he must deal with life. The day comes Luke need to go back to the barracks to went back on his mission as a bombardier. He promised to the old lady that he can come back safe and alive. Their last mission was successful. He come back to the Mathew’s court. He lives with Winnie.

They tour in London and get some seminars for Luke. Winnie wrote all those tips in the small notebook. After his last mission Luke Gardinier and his girlfriend Priscilla got married and have a 2 sons. He take the advice of Marslow. He invested all his money in operating a Gardinier’s industry. He becomes successful in his life. He finds for Winnie but he can’t. Until one day he was invited to brew interviewed. Winnie watches his interview and the one who took care of her phoned the program that if could get the address and phone number of Mr. Gardinier. They met again, but unfortunately Winnie is old and sitting on his rocking chair and has amnesia. Luke Gardinier cried and he thanked Winnie for all she has done into his life. Luke Gardinier thought that without those encourage and motivation of Winnie he have nothing.
