We have two important issues needing your assistance in this newsletter. We are asking all of our investors to follow the link within the message regarding funding for the Joint Technological Education District (JTED). It is a very simple and quick process. You will click on the link, type your zip code and the letter is ready to be sent on your behalf. The message to our elected leaders is a plea to restore funding to the JTED’s and all other Career Technical Education (CTE) programs. Without these tools we are further hurting our students and employers who need these skills for the sustainability of their businesses. PLEASE contact our representatives. Please see the article within this newsletter. The second call for service is in support of Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). They are seeking comments in response to an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Laguna Army Airfield. The EA will evaluate the effects to the natural and human environment that could result from establishing new special use airspace restricted area. The area would extend from the ground surface to, and including, 1.700 feet Mean Seal Level (1,267 feet above ground level) and the horizontal arc distance of 3.5 nautical miles centered from Laguna Army Airfield. The EA is available for review until September 3, 2015. The documents are available online at http://www.yuma.army.mil/Documents.aspx The importance of this designation is great to YPG and will improve safety and efficiency for programs they are testing laser and aircraft testing. Please lend your support to this designation by sending a brief email of support to [email protected] A very brief statement of support is all that is needed of your time. Thank you for helping one of our premier assets in Yuma County. In late July I was fortunate to be invited to a White House Forum for Economic Development. We were very fortunate to meet with TOP Advisors to the President and received very important updates regarding trade agreements that will enhance our competitiveness in the world trade arena. The following three pages are pictures of some of the Advisors we spoke with.

As you know, during this year’s budget negotiations, a $30 million cut was made to Joint Technical Education Districts (JTEDs) and their partner school districts for FY17. Governor Ducey and members of the legislature need to hear from you about how important this funding is! These cuts will decimate Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that have proven extremely valuable for Arizona students and the economy.

Will you email the Governor and your legislators today to tell them to restore the $30 million in next year’s budget? Send a quick message to your legislators to tell them that this funding is important to you and to Arizona’s economy. The links will take you directly to a page where you will be asked to enter your zip code. The letter has already been written and after you enter your name, address and email address you will click on the submit button and your letter will be sent to the appropriate legislators. When you do, Expect More Arizona will also send you periodic email updates to keep you informed and help you stay involved Thank you for your help! At this time, we are updating our Preferred Vendor Guide all Silver Level and above Investors are entitled to a free ad in the Guide. For those investors who have not submitted an ad the time to do so is now. The deadline for submitting has passed but we do have some flexibility for you to send in an ad and have it appear in the Guide. If you need an ad created for you please call the office at 928.782.7774 ASAP. We will go to print in September. We are placing the guide on our website under the Site Selection tab for maximum exposure to potential new companies. Guides will be distributed locally to our hotels, hospital, and YVB. The guides are shared with all clients of GYEDC and we strongly recommend the vendors represented within the guide are the vendors they use. Please make sure you call the Greater Yuma EDC office as soon as you can if you have not submitted an ad for the Guide and would like to.
