A world leader in the gas sector
With more than 50 years of experience, we have established ourselves
as a world leader in the conceptual design, engineering and
construction of gas production, transport, processing, liquefaction and
storage facilities and terminals. References cover grassroots facilities,
ranging from small individual units to gigantic complexes, in every sort
of environment, as well as upgrades of existing installations.
4 Gas processing
The total installed capacity is about 20 BSCFD
(190 BCM) with the largest single unit capacity at around
1.5 BSCFD.
The acid gas content (H2S + CO
2) of gases treated ranges
from a few ppm to 60%. We design Gas Purification plants (sweetening, sulfur removal) based on generic open-art
solvents as well as proprietary formulated solvents such as UCARSOL (Dow Chemicals), GAS/SPEC (Ineos) among others.
Technip has also access to most licensed technologies including AdvAmine™, HySWEET®, COSweet® or SweetSulf®
(Total/Prosernat), OASE® (BASF), Amine Guard™ FS (UOP) as well as Sulfinol or ADIP technologies (SGS).
We have major references in CO2
removal on membranes and we work with the main membrane technology suppliers
such as UOP, Cameron, Air Liquide, Porogen, MTR to supply optimised solutions to our customers.
Our experience also covers Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) purification for dehydration and sulfur removal, using technologies
from UOP, Axens and Merichem.

natural gas using chemical or
physical solvents.

Technip works with all major SRU technology Licensors
such as Worley Parsons, Black&Veatch, Fluor,
AirLiquide-Lurgi, Prosernat, KT-Kinetics Technology or
Jacobs Comprimo. We can also provide our customers
open-art SRU and TGTU designs as well as
debottlenecking or trouble-shooting services.
We designed the world’s largest single train capacity
(2,250 t/d) for Machino-import at Astrakan (Russia).
Sulphur recovery
With some 80 units producing more
than 35,000 t/d, we are the leading
engineering contractor in the field
of sulphur recovery plants.
HAWIYAH - Saudi Arabia - 1,050 t/d in 3 units

OGD 2 - Abu Dhabi - Glycol unit
A total capacity in excess of 30 billion SCFD has been installed by Technip with single unit
capacity ranging from 8 million SCFD to more than 1 billion SCFD.
ORENBURG - Molecular sieve unit
Dehydration andfinal purification
We have extensive experience in gas dehydration units using solid beds adsorbents
(zeolithes, silica-gel) as well as glycol dehydration or hydrate inhibition systems.
Our references also cover mercury removal units and polishing technologies
(scavengers or regenerable adsorbents).

PETROSA GTL unit - South Africa
ORYX GTL complex - Qatar - 34,000 BPD of liquids
Gas-To-Liquids (GTL) technology converts natural gas into high quality petroleum products, such as naphtha and diesel
fuel. They are sulphur free, contain no aromatics and the diesel fuel has a high cetane number.
Technip is a leader in the design and construction of GTL facilities. Construction of the Oryx GTL complex was
completed in 2006.
This was the result of 3 years of intense and challenging work for our Engineering, Procurement and Construction teams.
Gas-To-Liquids (GTL)
Technip built Qatar's first GTL plant
for the QP/Sasol joint venture
(Oryx) in Ras Laffan, with the
highest reactor capacity to-date.
Through the acquisition of Stone &
Webster Process Technologies, we
are the exclusive co-developer of
Sasol Fischer Tropsch reactor
technology.

Technip’s experience in natural gas liquefaction dates
from the very beginning of this industry, starting with
the design and construction of the world’s first
base-load facility at Arzew, Algeria.
Having been active in LNG ever since, we are one of
the few major players in this field providing all services
from conceptual study to lump sum turnkey projects.

Calling on its lengthy experience
as process designer, Technip offers
alternate schemes to improve the
profitability of LNG projects.
Our unequalled combined
experience of design and
construction of liquefaction
plants and FPSO's has resulted in
our leadership in FLNG through
two EPIC contracts:
