External POI file format

Additional POIs to be used in Black Edition have to be prepared in human-readable textual file.

Character file format is UTF-8, so that any character set is supported. File extension is ‘ga’.

Each line of POI textual file contains information about one POI. An individual POI is described using

several “fields”, each of which has meaning as described in the table below:

Field name Mandatory (Yes/No) Description

POI Yes POI name. Example: POI=”Mireo”

CITY No City name in POI address. Example: CITY=”Zagreb”

AREA No Province name in POI address. Example: AREA=”Grad

Zagreb”

STREET No Street name in POI address. Example: STREET=”Buzinski

prilaz”.

HOUSE_NO No

House number in POI address. Example: HOUSE_NO=”32”.

Note that house number can contain both letters and

numbers.

PHONE No Phone number of POI. Example: “+385 1 6636966”

PLZ No Postal code in POI address. Example: PLZ=”10000”

COUNTRY No Country name in POI address. Example:

COUNTRY=”Hrvatska”.

PT Yes WGS-84 coordinates of POI (decimal degrees format).

Example: PT=”15.9951 45.7475”.

A complete example of an external POI file would be as follows:

COUNTRY="Hrvatska" CITY="Poreč" PLZ="52440" STREET="Rade Končara" POI="Prod. 625" PT="13.595710 45.218479"

COUNTRY="Hrvatska" CITY="Matulji" PLZ="51213" STREET="Jušići/D8" POI="Prod. 465" PT="14.317439 45.378317"

COUNTRY="Hrvatska" CITY="Pisarovina" PLZ="10451" STREET="Donja Kupčina" POI="Prod. 282" PT="15.813167 45.550752"

Installation

Prepared textual POI file has to have extension ‘ga’ (for example, FootballStadiums.ga). Installation

means just copying this file to the ‘POI’ subfolder of Black Edition (create this subfolder manually if it

does not exist). Black Edition will import those POIs automatically during next start-up.

Many external POI files can be imported and added (maximum is 127).

Installing custom icon

Appearance of external POIs within Black Edition can be customized by defining special “category” to

which this POI set belongs to. Special category has its own name and icon attached to it.

If you want to define special category for, say, FootballStadiums.ga external POI set, then prepare

another textual file with the same name as POI set file name, but with ‘txt’ extension (that is,

FootballStadiums.txt in this example). This textual file is XML definition of special POI category with

the following content (one single line of text):

<poi name="Football stadiums" img="fstadiums.m8888" max_zf="64"/>

Name of category is “Football stadiums”, icon image to be used with this category is

“fstadiums.m8888” and maximal zoom factor (map scale) until which POIs from this category will be

displayed during map browsing is 64 (zoom factory vary from 1 to 2^24 as powers of 2).

Icon format is special Mireo internal m8888 format. Icons size is 24x24. For conversion from any source

image format to m8888 please use command line utility provided by Mireo.

Finally, put all three files (FootballStadiums.ga, FootballStadiums.txt, fstadiums.m8888) into the ‘POI’

subfolder of Black Edition main folder. Black Edition will import those POIs automatically during next

start-up together with custom category and icon definition.

Safety cameras

Additional safety camera’s data can be added to Black Edition using similar file format as for external

POIs. A textual file (UTF-8) with the name ‘import.txt’ has to be prepared, with each safety camera

described in separate line.

The format of a line describing one safety camera is as follows:

Field name Mandatory (Yes/No) Description

POI Yes

Safety camera type name. Four types of cameras are

supported: ‘F’ – fixed camera which measures vehicle’s

speed, ‘M’ – mobile camera which measures vehicle’s

speed, ‘A’ – fixed camera that measures average

vehicle’s speed on some segment, ‘R’ – red light fixed

camera.

Example: POI=”F”

PT Yes WGS-84 coordinates of safety camera (decimal degrees

format). Example: PT=”15.9951 45.7475”.

A complete example is given below:

PT="1.5592796 42.5217812" POI="F"

PT="1.5333726 42.5106047" POI="F"

PT="1.5243096 42.5189521" POI="F"

PT="1.52062 42.5252626" POI="F"

Installation

File with speed camera data has to be saved in file with name ‘import.txt’ (file name cannot be

changed). This file should be placed in ‘SpeedCams’ subfolder of Black Edition main folder. Black

Edition will import safety cameras defined in that file automatically during next start-up.

Imported data will be appended to existing (imported before) safety camera data.
