UNDERSTAND YOUR HEARTBEAT Personal Activity Intelligence

UNDERSTAND YOUR HEARTBEATPAI measures your body’s response to physical activity by translating

heart rate data into a single, accurate, meaningful metric that provides the guidance and motivation to maintain optimal health.

INTRODUCING PAI

Professor Ulrik Wisløff, Ph.D. Exercise Physiology•  Director of CERG, the world leading research group in Exercise in

medicine.

•  Awarded K.G. Jebsen Funding to become a Center of Excellence in Exercise and Health Research at NTNU (winner of the nobel prize in medicine in 2014)

•  Leads several successful European and multi-continental studies on physical activity, public health and longevity.

•  190 peer-reviewed papers – 10,500 citations

•  Validated High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) which has emerged as the new global standard for maximizing cardiovascular strength

•  Invited as a nucleus member by the American Heart Association to write the new statement on risk, physical activity, physical fitness and public health.

•  Nucleus member of the European Society of Cardiology and the European Association for Cardiovascular Prevention & Rehabilitation

•  Nucleus member and consultant for Norwegian Council for Cardiovascular Disease

•  Advisor to Manchester United, Celtic and Cruzeiro

Why is PAI Better Than Other Metrics?

Confidential 4

1. It’s Simple: The goal is to maintain a minimum score of 100 PAI for maximum health benefits and longevity.

2. It’s Personal: Your PAI is calculated based on the intensity (HR) and duration of your activity. You choose whatever activity is right for you. Achieving a minimum of 100 PAI score is a personalized experience with all PAI calculations customized and accurate for each individual.

3. It’s Scientific: Mio’s PAI algorithm is founded upon data collected from the HUNT Health Study; one of the largest health studies over a 30-year period with 60,000 participants.

Conducted by the Nobel Prize-winning Faculty of Medicine at the Norwegian University of Science & Technology

4. It’s Meaningful: The most accurate way to determine the health benefits from exercise is to analyze an individual’s heart rate data. Other metrics such as steps are an inaccurate way to measure fitness activity, as not all steps are created equal, and not all exercise involves steps.

5. It’s Flexible: Since it is calculated over a rolling 7-day period, it is adaptable to people’s busy lifestyles. People can work out more on some days, and less on others, and still be able to maintain their desired PAI score for optimal health.

How Do You Use PAI?

Confidential 6

•  Your PAI is calculated based on the intensity and duration of your activity

•  The goal is to reach and stay above 100 PAI. You don’t have to exercise every day, You can skip a day or two and make up your lost PAI

•  By staying above 100 you have done enough activity to maximally prevent the onset of cardiovascular diseases

•  It’s clinically proven that on average you will live ten years longer!

•  PAI is a ready product and is being implemented on Mio’s new portfolio

The HUNT Study

•  About 60 000 individuals were followed for almost three decades and the participants were examined for cholesterol levels, blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, premature death etc.

•  Cost of the HUNT study ~ $30 million•  One of the largest in the world of its kind

•  A subset of this dataset (4600) have comprehensive fitness records including VO2 peak measurements and detailed activity profiles

•  A unique aspect of the HUNT database is that over the thirty years people died. It became possible to get a very clear longitudinal picture of the causes of death.

PAI: Live Longer

•  PAI algorithms were applied against the records of the 60 000 individuals in the HUNT Phase One database

•  The results were astonishing. People that had kept their PAI at 100 and above lived on average ten years longer.
