Lack of services open to Victims and Perpetrators especially Men. Programs being rolled out in schools to develop empathy among children No consistent training for NGO’s. MSAMHS looking to recruit to a Psycho Education Officer position. WAVSS now located in Redlands and Logan areas A number of D & FV Services - limited effective programs for Men. DOH staff do online DV training

4.2

Topics for Discussion: Suicide Prevention MHPN – 15th February at Woolloongabba Community Health Centre.

Nick – Brook RED, Shaina – Wesley Mission and third speaker TBC. RRPT will be recruiting a Zero Suicide Project Officer for the Bayside area. BSPHN will be holding a think tank in Wynnum shortly. A number of programs happening but we need to try and align all services. Suicide Prevention Networks have been set up in South West, Logan and

Bayside areas. Hope to continue across Metro South. A lot of fragmentation, a number of agencies who have funding for small

projects. Aligning services and resources, intense process, could be a shared response by

HHS/PHN. KM will raise at the PHN think tank. PAUSE program running at Brook RED. All staff trained in ASSIST through QUiHN, 2 full days, very intense training. Wesley Mission currently run training session in NSW and are looking to roll out

in Qld and also run a number of Suicide Prevention Networks in Brisbane. Costs are an impact and we need to review how we can roll out trainings

effectively. STARS tool, EARS (engage, assess, respond, support suicidal people) RFQ – Assist –core training MHFA has training specific to Suicide – MSAMHS have one trainer. How do people know what services are there to access for support services?
