The“Connections at Shingle Creek” project will improve conditions forpedestrians and bikers and will create outdoor learning spaces for local schools. Construction will begin in the summer of 2014.

Minnesota is known as the state of hockey, which makes Minnesotans huge hockey fans, but they

also love football, baseball and basketball; and sometimes can be a little obsessed. Ask the Minnesota

Vikings fan who wears his Viking horns every Sunday what he would do for his team, or talk to the

Minnesota Twins fan that has a framed homer hanky from the 1987 World Series above her mantel

about her game-time superstitions, even though she isn’t on the team. Go to a Minnesota Vikings,

Twins, Timberwolves, Lynx, or Wild game and you’ll see what we’re talking about. Minnesotans love

their Minnesota sports.

TARGET CENTER: Remaining open during its renovation, Target Centerwill go under a $97 million facelift starting in 2014. The project is scheduled to be completed in 18-24 months and will continue to be home to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynxbasketball teams.

MIDWAY STADIUM: August 28th, 2014 will be the last Saint Paul Saints home game at Midway Stadium. The Saints will move to Saint Paul’s Lowertown district with a hopeful date of May 15th, 2015 for opening day at the new stadium.

VIKINGS STADIUM: 2013 was the last Minnesota Vikings season atMall of America Field. Looking forward, the Vikings will play their 2014 and 2015 season home games at TCF Bank Stadium, where theMinnesota Gopher football team plays. Completion of the new stadium is set for July 2016 and will feature 64,000 seats, a one-of-a-kindtranslucent roof and skyway connection to adjacent parking ramps.
