This catalog includes areas of service within the church. Please take time to read over all the opportunities we offer. Once you find a few areas of interest, turn to page 10 to learn how to Test Drive these ministries.

Community Care
Hospital Visitation Briefly visit (on a day of your choice), and pray with individuals who are in local hospitals - Church office will supply admission information
Shut-In Visitation Call to arrange convenient times for a home visit- Communion may also be served
Nursing Home Visitation Visit local nursing homes during an assigned week each month - Take time to encourage those in need

Helper Assist the Leader with administrative responsibilities- taking roll, tracking prayer requests, lead games, etc
Check-in Helper Assist the Leader in checking-in kids with the computerized system at the beginning of the service

Craft Assistant Demonstrate an appropriate craft to elementary girls that supports a Bible lesson
Helper Assist the teacher with administrative responsibilities such as taking role and tracking prayer requests

Assistant Assist the teacher in all areas of class facilitation

Vocal/Choir Ministry Team Assist in leading the congregation in weekly worship services, seasonal choir, or special music
Worship Band Use your instrumental gifting to help lead the congregation in worship
Technical/Multimedia Team Apply your skills in the area of sound design, stage lighting, and computer technology during our weekly worship services
Set & Sermon Series Construction Help with special productions and sermon series through construction, painting, or design
Visual Use your artistic ability in the area of painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, or photography to convey a testimony, scripture, or other topics
Dance Use your dance ability to display the beauty of God through movement for special events and seasonal productions

Grounds Team Groom and care for landscaping and mulch beds around church and parsonage
Kitchen Help Funeral Dinners Cook and serve dinners to the families and friends of those who are grieving after funeral services
Special Events Throughout the year there are events that will require assistance with cooking, food preparation, and set-up
Medical Ministry Team Be a first responder in the event of a medical emergency on the church campus or at a church event (specific training and certification required)
Office VolunteersGeneral Volunteer Perform various administrative and clerical tasks as needed on an on-call basis
Special Projects Help on an as-needed basis with a wide variety of tasks such as mailings, packet assembly, cutting, sorting, etc
Security Team Be a part of a ministry team to help ensure the safety of all who choose to worship at Central
Transportation Drive school bus (CDL license required) or church vans for special events throughout the year for children, youth and adult groups
H o s p i t a l i t y
Communion Team (Set-up, Condense, or Clean-up) Prayerfully prepare the communion elements to be served monthly – includes condensing the trays between services and clean-up after the 2nd service (gathering cups from the pews and emptying/cleaning communion trays)

Doorkeeper Have a smiling face as members, attendees and visitors approach our front doors - Hold the door for them as an act of service and love
Greeter Greeting people with your talents and abilities to connect with God and others in the church
Information Center Assistant Supply congregation with up-to-date information regarding events, visitor information, facility directions, and money collection for various items
Parking Lot Attendant Direct traffic flow, assist anyone who needs help getting into the church, and ensure a great first impression for everyone
Usher Ministry Help seat guests, hand out bulletins, handle crowd control, answer questions, take offering and serve communion during our Sunday services and special events
O u t r e a c h : L o c a l M i s s i o n s
HOPE Dinners Once a month formal sit-down dinners served to needy families and individuals from our local community
Set-up or Clean-up Come early, or stay late to help with the set-up or clean-up of the tables with linens, silverware, etc
Serving Become a waiter/waitress for the night as you cater to those guests at your assigned table
Kitchen Help to prepare the food or wash dishes
Driving Drive guests to and from the dinner that have no means of transportation using the vans or school bus
Special Projects Help with outreach projects including minor building repairs, painting, collecting and distributing clothing, etc

Transportation Ministry Pick-up and drop-off those without transportation prior to second service on Sunday mornings, prior to Wednesday night groups, and shuttle between lots for one service Sundays

Audio/Technical Team Prepare, manage, maintain and operate the sound, video, computer and lighting systems to enhance services
Café Team Serving food, snacks and beverage items to the students on Wednesday nights and special events
Junior High Ministry Team Serve by teaching/assisting in our Sunday Morning Junior High Class with students in grades 6-8
Ministry Team Volunteer Serve by assisting during Wednesday night meetings in the areas of check-in, leading activities, small group discussions, events, and more
Evangelistic Outreach Share the love of Christ with others by partnering with missions churches’ events, outreaches, VBS, etc

Step One
Tear off and complete the Test Drive Sign-Up sheet. Contact the church at [email protected] or 724-746-4900, with any questions.
Step Two
You will be contacted by a ministry coordinator or pastor to discuss the serving opportunities that interest you.
Step Three
Attend the Next Steps class if you haven’t done so. During this series, you will complete inventories that will help you discover your strengths in the areas of leadership, spiritual gifts, personality and skills. You will have a personalized meeting to help you identify your best serving options.
Step Four
From your selected areas of interest, you will then shadow a ministry team member to get first-hand experience of your chosen ministry. If the Test Drive is successful for you then you will be contacted by the Ministry Team Leader to learn more about becoming involved on a regular basis.
