METALS AND MINING The index of physical volume of production of metallurgical industry of Kazakhstan increased to 100.8% in 2014 and in January-October of 2015 and 115.3%, respectively, reflecting the acceleration of the pace of growth of the industry.

Trade turnover of Kazakhstan for production of metallurgical industry in 2014 amounted to $ 12.6 billion which is 20.6% less than in 2013. At the same time, in 2014, exports of the sector decreased by 13% to $ 9.6 billion while import decreased by 37.8% and amounted to US $ 3 billion.

AGRICULTURE
The agricultural industry is one of the most important industries of economy of Kazakhstan. The agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan includes the industries having the close economic and production interrelations specializing in production of agricultural products, its conversion and storage, and also providing agricultural industry and processing industry with means of production.

The share of food branch was 4.5% (in 2014 there were 3,3%) in 2015. A ratio of volumes of export of the raw and processed goods went down from 52% (1.1 billion dollars of the USA) to 48% (1 billion dollars of the USA).

The capacity of the internal market consumption in the first 11 months of 2015 was US $ 2.8 billion of which the share of domestic production is 57%.

CHEMICAL INDUSTRY
There is a wide range of mineral and hydrocarbon materials in Kazakhstan, including significant reserves of phosphate, chromite, sodium salts. In the depths of the country found 99 out of 105 chemical elements of Mendeleev’s periodic table. Over 60 of these elements are in commercial use. Currently in Kazakhstan 493 explored deposits containing 1225 types of natural resources.
The production volume of chemical products from 2008 to 2015 as a whole is characterized by a growth. In 2015 the volume of production of chemicals amounted to 244.1 billion tenge, which is 2.3 times higher than in 2008.
Capacity of the internal market consumption in the first 11 months of 2015 was $2.02 billion, of which the share of domestic production is 13%.
Export of chemical products for 11 months of 2015 was 945 million USD which is 2,9% higher than in 2014 due to rise in export volume of chromium compounds

Joint-Stock Company “Sovereign Wealth Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” was established in accordance to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No.669 dated October 13, 2008 “On Certain Measures to Ensure Competitiveness and
Sustainability of National Economy” by merger of Joint Stock Company “Sustainable Development Fund “Kazyna” and Joint Stock Company “Kazakhstan Holding for the Management of State Assets “Samruk”. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the Sole Shareholder of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC (hereinafter - the Fund).
The Fund’s mission is to increase the national welfare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and support the modernization of national economy through effective management of portfolio companies for enhancing their long-term value and sustainable development.

“Astana Solar” LLP is a subsidiary of “Kazatomprom” company implementing a project on production of photovoltaic modules
using Kazakhstani silicon “KazPV”.
The purpose of the project is to create a fully vertically integrated production cycle of photovoltaic modules, form extraction and procession of silicon to assembly of solar panels. The plant equipped with the modern European automated equipment will be producing photovoltaic modules with the capacity of 50 megawatt and later with the capacity of up to 100 magawatt.
Production of photovoltaic modules has the certificate of conformity to the required norms: IEC61215/IEC61730-1/IEC61730-2, which was issued by European certification company “Certisolis”. Besides, the enterprise has introduced the integrated system of quality management as well as the environmental management, occupational safety management and health management in accordance with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2006 and OHSAS 18001:2007
The building of the plant is a unique construction itself at the scale of our country. The peculiarity of the building is in its roof, which is used for converting the sunlight and wind into electricity. “Batsu” brick-making plant is one of the first manufacturers of ceramic bricks in South Kazakhstan Region since the country gained its independence. The former plant that had
been constructed back in 1973 was purchased by the company in 1996, and since then the company that has gone to become Batsu-Vodokanal, LLP has upgraded the plant and continued the operations. In 2012, the partnership decided to fully reconstruct and upgrade the plant. From 2013 till 2014 construction and erection was done to build a new plant instead of the old one and meet the state-of-the-art requirements of a ceramic construction brick-making plant.
The project whose value was about USD 15 million was implemented as part of a governmental program of a forced industrial and innovation development, and in 2013 the company was able to get the governmental support in implementation of the project as part of the 2020 Business Roadmap.
Also, within the framework of this program the plant was equipped with appropriate engineering and communication utilities by implementing a government-funded project entitled “Construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline for Badam industrial enterprises” which helped to provide the necessary amount of fuel and utilities for the plant (gas and electricity).
Today, we are one of the largest plants in South Kazakhstan Region in production of ceramic bricks. We have our in-house raw material mines that we use under a license for exploration and production. The cutting-edge plant fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment, and the fine-tuned technology enable to have a complete production cycle, from mining and supply of raw materials to sales of finished products.

Consortium «KazProm-Nerud » was establishesd in 2003 and currently is one of the largest producers of crushed stone in the Republic of Kazakhstan with annual production capacity of 4,5 million tons. Consortium has 6 crushing and screening plants on
5 deposits of construction stone in 3 regions of Kazakhstan. Each deposit has reserves from 6 to 81 million tons. These deposits are of porphyry, diorite, diabase, granodiorite, and dolomite.
The dolomite deposit contents magnesium, that allows the creation of a dolomite cluster. The dolomite cluster is the production of stone, crushed stone, dolomite powder for agriculture, glass industry and the production of fine ground cement, and magnesium. The reserves of the dolomite deposit are 81 million tons. Recent laboratory tests have indicated that our dolomite contents up to 18% of magnesium, and, thus, have revealed the possibility of recovering more than 10 million tons of pure magnesium and the production of aluminum-magnesium alloys.
