As we gather today we become more than a collection of individuals. We have been united to each other in the waters of baptism and welcomed by Christ to his holy supper. While some may be strangers to us, we are invited to recognize the deep communion we share in Christ Jesus. Our worship does not protect us from others; it teaches us to be a people of hospitality, generous in faith, hope, and love.

Today’s Altar Flowers are dedicated to the Glory of God.

Altar Flowers ($50 for both arrangements): 2016 Chart is on the church office door for you to reserve your flowers and write a dedication. Available dates: 9/4, & 10/9. See the chart for additional dates.

We receive Grayson Krempel into the body of Christ by Holy Baptism 10am.

We welcome Nancy Beck, Lilah Haxton, and Keith and Sarah Krempel into the body of Christ through Affirmation of Baptism at 10am.

We welcome Charlie Frekot, Deacon of Spiritual Nature and President of Lutheran Student Movement at Susquehanna University. He will be sharing his message with us today. Keep him in your prayers as he discerns where God is calling him after college.

We welcome Katie Ostrosky who is substituting for Sue Pumplin while on f

Attention Knitters/Crocheters: Are you interested in making Prayer Shawls for our congregation? I’m a new knitter myself and I’m able to make a shawl, so if you are inexperienced, I'd be happy to share what I know with you! Please contact Peggy Johnson (443-831-7604 / [email protected]) for information and yarn if needed. Place your finished shawl on the Altar in the Sanctuary and log it on the chart with a color description and your name.

Donate Blood to the Red Cross: Credit your donation to New Hope by adding a “full” blood bag to the Congregational Care bulletin board. See the bulletin board for details.

Friends Helping Friends at New Hope: Contact Peggy Johnson ([email protected] / 410-489-4140) if you are in need - or know someone in our congregation who is in need - of temporary help with meals, rides, household or yard work, shopping, etc. We are here for you. If you'd like to help provide any of these services, please let me know or sign up on the Sign Up board in the Narthex.
