“Third year” = 536 B.C. Daniel is in his mid-80s and some had returned to

Jerusalem to begin rebuilding the Temple.


“was long” =“great conflict” or “great war”


“three full weeks” = “three sevens of days”________________________

Daniel avoided “choice” foods, meats, wine, and didn’t anoint himself for three weeks while mourning over the

vision.

Ministering Servants – The Messenger – 10:4-11

The glory of heaven seems to have been reflected in this messenger, possibly Gabriel.

He was an impressive sight!Note the similarity to Rev. 1:13-16


There is not a lot of biblical evidence that angels are as they are often portrayed.


It is clear that angels have rank and levels of authorityEph. 6:10-12

Ministering Servants - Cherubim

The term “Cherubim” originally was related to terms meaning “great” or “mighty” , as well as

“blessed” or “propitious” in still other languages._____________________________

That is interesting since Yahweh is said to be above the cherubim of the Mercy Seat.


They guarded the way to the EdenGenesis 3:24


In 2 Sam. 22:11 and Ps. 18:10, it is said of the Lord that…“…He rode upon a cherub, and flew;He flew upon the wings of the wind.”

Ministering Servants - Seraphim

Isaiah 6In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting

on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one

had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried

to another and said:“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;The whole earth is full of His glory!”

They could have rescued Christ and destroyed the earthMatt. 26:53


They will come back with Christ when He returns in His Kingdom, gather unbelievers out, and gather Israel.

They have great joy when people get right with God!Luke 15:10


They are taught by the Church, observe, and are impacted by our behavior

They will be judged by us.1 Cor. 6:3


Angels can and do change formHebrews 1:7


Small children are the special focus of the love of God and angelic concern.

Angels serve growing disciplesHebrews 1:13-14


“Salvation” in Hebrews… 1:13-14 – Future5:9 – by works

9:28 – has nothing to do with sin and is for believers


So, what are we “saved” from?


The Book of Hebrews focuses on life in “the world to come”, the kingdom.


Angels help growing believers get prepared for the future!
