“Third year” = 536 B.C. Daniel is in his mid-80s and some had returned to
Jerusalem to begin rebuilding the Temple.

Daniel avoided “choice” foods, meats, wine, and didn’t anoint himself for three weeks while mourning over the
vision.

The glory of heaven seems to have been reflected in this messenger, possibly Gabriel.

The term “Cherubim” originally was related to terms meaning “great” or “mighty” , as well as
“blessed” or “propitious” in still other languages._____________________________
That is interesting since Yahweh is said to be above the cherubim of the Mercy Seat.

In 2 Sam. 22:11 and Ps. 18:10, it is said of the Lord that…“…He rode upon a cherub, and flew;He flew upon the wings of the wind.”
