Thank you to all exhibitors, strategic partners and supporting organisations for your involvement at M&E WA last week. With a number of quality leads and significant qualified interest generated over the course of the event, the vast majority of exhibitors were highly pleased with M&E WA. M&E WA provided a platform that offered the latest insights into innovations and technology that correlated directly with industry and market demands, by focusing on increasing efficiency, productivity, cost-effectiveness and mine site optimisation. Initial unaudited figures showed that M&E WA attracted a total of 2,288 trade visits. This attendance figure reflects the alignment of M&E WA to the current economic climate and state of the industry, with visitors actively seeking the very latest technological innovations that deliver enhanced processes, products, services and systems; which meet the productivity and efficiency demands of mining companies. M&E WA welcomed suppliers from over eleven countries and visitors from over twenty-six countries, such as Brazil, China, Chile, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea and the United States, validating M&E WA’s status as a Perth-based premium global mining industry event. Additionally, the numerous visitors from the top mining houses were paramount to the exhibition, these included visitors from AngloGold Ashanti, Atlas Iron, Vale, BHP Billiton, Downer EDI, Fortescue Metal Group, Goldfields, Newmont, Norton Goldfields, Rio Tinto and Saracen Mineral Holdings. Early research demonstrates that 21% attendees identified themselves as senior management (i.e. Director/Owner/CEO/MD/Plant Manager/Purchasing), 25% were engineers and 5% hold operational positions. Even with capital expenditure being managed carefully throughout the industry, decision-makers are clearly still prioritising M&E WA, which is evident in the number of leading mining representatives in attendance.

See over the page for “M&E WA 2014 At A Glance”, which is an overview of visitor statistics. Please note that these are only preliminary figures, with a fully CAB audited Post-Show Report to be sent to you in the next three months. As part of this process, an independent research consultant (Micromex) will be contacting exhibitors over the next couple of weeks seeking your detailed feedback. I’d like to extend our thanks to all attendees, exhibitors, strategic partners and supporters, we hope that your business objectives for M&E WA 2014 were achieved.
