What do we individually understand as stress? Stress is your mind and body’s response or
reaction to a real or imagined threat, event or change
The threat, event or change are commonly called stressors
It could be an internal stressor or an external stressor.

Types of Stress
Eustress- PositiveDistress – Negative.
Commonly known as stress.
Not necessarily bad(Eustress/Positive)Athletes or stage performers can use stress to perform close to peak level.
ButPutting off work until the last minute and then developing a headache does not result in peak performance.
Causes of Stress• Changes in the workplace:
– Competition and change– Technological change– Increasingly diverse workforce– Downsizing– Employee empowerment and teamwork– Work/home conflict
