Mini Christmas Album

‘Tis the time of year when Santa and his elves are tucked away, hard at work in the workshop in preparation for the Big Day. And sometimes our lists can seem as long as Santa’s with everything we try to do during the busy holiday season. So take some time, make some hot cocoa, and relegate yourself to your own workshop to craft some gifts of your own. This Christmas Mini Album is the perfect project - it makes a great gift and helps to remind us to pause and capture the memories.

STEP1: Using the Santa’s Signpost framelits and the Santa’s Workshop Designer Series Paper, die cut shapes to embellish the album and tin as desired.

STEP3: Shown are all of the pieces to make the front and inside of the cover. The spine of the cover is Garden Green cardstock which is 3” x 2-1/4” and scored every 1/4”. The project has 4 pages adhered to the spine using strong adhesive. See the photo for the placement of the Tear & Tape Adhesive on the scored and folded piece of Garden Green cardstock.

STEP2: This project has rounded corners which were created using the Detailed Trio Punch. Make sure to punch the rounded corners for the remaining pages on the top and bottom of one side. The cover is made out of Garden Green cardstock. You will need to score, fold, and burnish this piece for the cover.

STEP4: Create pockets for the inside of the cover by layering a 3-1/8” square cardstock piece with a coordinating piece of Designer Series Paper adhered to the inside. Layer 3-1/8” x 1-1/2” cardstock with 2-7/8” x 1-1/4” Designer Series Paper. Adhere edges of three sides, leaving the top open for a pocket.

STEP5: Punch the top of a Garden Green 2” x 3” piece and a Poppy Parade 2” x 3” piece using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Adhere the 1-3/4” x 2-1/8” piece of Whisper White cardstock to each of these pieces. Add 4” ribbon to the top and tie with twine. Decorate with die-cut images from Step 1.

STEP7: Have a third layered 3-1/8” square piece ready, aligned to the back of the layered 3-1/8” piece over the envelope flap. You will now have three sides of the envelope covered with layered cardstock pieces.

STEP6: The pockets/pages are created using small envelopes. Each page uses four 3-1/8” squares of layered cardstock. Punch a half circle from the right side using the 1-1/4” circle punch. Adhere to envelope, making sure that the flap is open and to the right. Repeat layering and adhere to the flap of the envelope.

STEP8: Add the spine to the middle of the cover. Attach the 1/4” spine to the right side of the envelope using Tear and Tape Adhesive. You have added your first page to the book.

STEP9: To complete the page, adhere another layered element over the envelope and spine. This will secure the page to the spine. Layer a 2-1/2” x 1-7/8” Whisper White piece to a 2-3/4” x 2-1/8” piece of cardstock and insert into the pockets of the envelope page.

STEP11: The four pages will look different depending on the Designer Series Paper and cardstock used. Each envelope will have four cardstock layers. Decorate and include sayings, quotes, memories, and pictures to these pages.

STEP10: Complete the rest of the three pages using the same steps. Here’s an overview of the sections of the album: the cover, the spine, the album pages/envelopes, and the note cards inside the envelopes.

STEP12: Complete the front of the cover by adhering Designer Series Paper. Stamp sentiments on Whisper White cardstock with Garden Green ink. Die cut using Stitched Circle framelit and Santa’s Signpost framelit. Adhere 18” ribbon to the cover and add stamped pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals over ribbon.

STEP13: Cover the tin with a piece of 3” x 12” Designer Series Paper. Round the corners of the 2” x 3-1/2” piece of Designer Series Paper and adhere it to the top of the lid. Wrap an 11” piece of ribbon around the edge of the lid. Tie a bow using a 10” piece of ribbon and adhere it with glue dots .

STEP14: Add sentiments to the front of the tin. Embellish the album and tin with Santa’s Workshop Enamel Shapes, Red Rhinestones, and die-cut images. Store the album inside of the tin. Great as a gift or to store memories, recipes, and traditions.
