Mingus Mountain Camp

October 21-23, 2016

The camp will start on Friday night after dinner and end on Sunday after lunch. Experienced camp leaders, Steve Gregory and John Rees, will lead the camp. John is a Scout leader and member of Green Valley UMC in Nevada. John’s sons, Michael and John, hold the record for the most rides on the camp zip line. Steve is the Director of Christian Education and Youth Leader at Chandler UMC in Arizona. Steve enjoys hiking, obstacle courses, campfires, and s’mores, but what he likes best is leading students and families on camp experiences that draw us all closer to God. Steve’s teenage daughter and experienced Dad & Me camper, Cassidy, will be assisting with the camp. She knows all the good hiking trails. There is sure to be a night hike and a campfire. For more information, contact Steve Gregory at 480-236-3817 or [email protected].

Strengthening Bonds Between Kids and Dads

Research shows that a healthy bond between children and their fathers prevents a host of bad behavioral choices. A strong bond between dads and kids also opens doors of communication. To help build strong bonds between kids and dads, Mingus Mountain Camp will host Dad & Me Camp on October 21-23, 2016. This camp will be a time and space set apart for kids to participate in positive, outdoor activities with their fathers and grandfathers. This camp is especially for dads, grandfathers, and children between 4 and 18 years old. What will we do? There are hikes, campfires, and projects scheduled, along with the challenge course, great food, and comfortable accommodations. If you, as a dad, feel like you haven’t connected to your child lately, we have the perfect opportunity to make new memories. Grand-dads and kids are welcome, too.
