MINES AND MONEY HONG KONG 2013
Mines and Money Hong Kong is where mining companies from around the world come to raise capital in Asia – and where investors and resource buyers from Hong Kong, mainland China, Singapore and the APAC region come to find mining investment opportunities.
Now a major fixture on the global mining investment circuit, Mines and Money Hong Kong 2013 will bring together over 3500 institutional investors, mining entrepreneurs, brokers and investment analysts for five days of high-value networking, investment analysis and deal-making.
We asked our 2854 delegates in 2012, for ideas to make Asia’s favourite mining investment show even better. Based on their responses we are delighted to announce some innovations for 2013.
New online 1-on-1 meeting planner, backed up by a team of dedicated meeting coordinators both pre-event and onsite to help you set up meetings and connect with your fellow delegates
meeting rooms (sold out in 2012) and a new meeting zone to facilitate 1-on-1 meetings onsite
Dedicated investor invitation and vetting team to ensure maximum attendance from high-quality mining investors
Expanded exhibition to provide space for 320+ mining companies to showcase their projects and growth prospects (sold out in 2012)
New larger venue for the Mines and Money Hong Kong Gala Dinner and Asia Mining Awards 2013 (sold out in 2012)

“ Mines and Money Hong Kong is very well organised and now one of the world’s leading resource conferences at a great venue. The unique mix of informed and knowledgeable participants from Australia, Asia and United Kingdom presents an opportunity to present your business to a wide audience and the format creates a positive atmosphere to develop new business opportunities.” Alan J Eggers, Manhattan Corporation
“ For companies that are looking for Chinese investment, Mines and Money Hong Kong is the place to exhibit.” Terry Bates, Meritus
“ Mines and Money Hong Kong has risen above its competition in China, as evidenced by an ever growing number of companies and investors who have travelled to Hong Kong to attend this year. From the Canaccord BGF perspective, it is the most important gathering in the Asian/Australian time zone, making it an essential opportunity to bring companies together to access the strongest growth region in the world.” Warwick Grigor, Canaccord BGF
“ I would say the event is a “must-go” for all those engaged in the industry.” Kenneth Wong, Project Manager, CITIC United Asia Investments
“ In my view, this is the best conference of its kind globally. The meeting of the source and destination of capital at a time of dramatic change in the global economy provides a unique opportunity for mining companies and investors.” Chris Ryan, Contango Asset Management
“ I believe Mines and Money Hong Kong is probably the best run, most interesting and best managed mining conference of all I have attended since the early 90s. I believe it will become the premiere “must-attend” mining conference in the world. So having maintained and supported and financed so many early stage mining companies that have become some of the largest in the interim, this has become a key conference on my calendar.” Gerard Farley, Founder, Principal & MD, Empire Securities/Empire Funds Management
“ My team found your conference to be the best conference they have attended in the past two years in what increasingly seems like a sea of conferences. I am not surprised your attendance was up as the days spent at the conference were the best investment in time investment professionals could make.” Graham Bibby, Chief Investment Officer & CEO, Richmond Asset Management

Thursday 21 March 2013 – Money Mining Executive Briefing
Money Mining – How mining companies succeed and fail to turn mineral resources into economic value
3.30pm – 5:00pm
Presenters: Gerald Whittle, Managing Director, Whittle Consulting Andrew Vigar, President, Mining Associates
Technical Solutions – Minerals & Metals, Ausenco
Whittle Consulting is Australia-based, but operates
worldwide and specialises in helping mining and mineral processing companies make a step change in their economic performance by accelerating cash production over the life of operation, through their approach called “Money Mining” - As applied at AngloGold Ashanti, Gold
Minerals, Vale/Inco, Minara & Paladin.
Briefing outline This thought provoking, non-technical, presentation will
outline the philosophy and methods that are enabling mining companies to add 5% to 35% or considerably more to their Net Present Value by developing business plans that focus on accelerating cash production over the life of operation. The ideas are challenging, sometimes controversial, but ultimately logical and weave together an overall solution to a wide range of business issues and dilemmas that you have no doubt come across in the past. The possible improvements identified often require little capital or engineering changes, usually working within the
truths, the answer is obvious once you point it out, but it takes fresh eyes or a new mindset to see it that way.
Some implications of this are the observation that:
values, being distracted by confusing silo-based objectives that prevent them from seeing the solution that is best for the whole enterprise
contribute to this confusion and fail to distinguish between the mining companies that are good or bad at converting mineral resources into economic value
This 90 minute session will give refreshing new insights in to mining company investing, and is effectively a crash course in mineral economics from an experienced specialist in maximising value of mining companies.
Arrival tea & coffee available from 3:00pm with the briefing commencing promptly at 3:30pm.
Complimentary networking drinks will be held at the conclusion of the briefing.
