Silver has extensive use in jewelry. Chihuahua and Durango states account for this country's 30 percent mining. Other states producing this precious metal are Guanajuato and Zacatecas. Non-precious Metals

Among this category of metal, copper is the most prominent. This metal is known for its superior conductivity, malleability, and ductility. Brass has large scale use in making plumbing fittings, coins, and utensils. Bronze is also used in making utensils and artifacts. Lead and zinc are the other mineral resources of significance. Lead is widely used in automotive batteries, ammunition, solder, pigments, and radiation shields.
