NEW AND IMPROVED FEATURES

Topic Formulas Add numerical values and formulas to your map topics. For example, you can include

cost estimates with topic subjects and perform operations like summing the total costs

contained in a series of sub-topics under one main topic. Easily drag and drop topics

into a branch and calculate results automatically.

New and updated map templates take advantage of these capabilities.

Found in the Insert Tab, under the Topic Data group with the new AutoCalc feature and

the updated Properties feature.

Task

Management

Create actionable tasks and projects online in Mindjet Tasks from topics in a desktop

map. Task assignments from the desktop can be updated in the Mindjet web or mobile

app, and the updated information is reflected in the desktop topics automatically. Use

either your desktop, web or mobile app to drive tasks to a successful completion while

keeping an active overview of the whole plan in Mindjet for Windows.

Found in the Home Tab, under Send Tasks To group (Mindjet Tasks).

Tasks

Dashboards

Create task dashboards in maps to track and update the status of projects and tasks.

View status of tasks assigned to individuals, groups, or entire projects. Review tasks

that are due in the next week, or show each task‟s percentage of completion and due

date to highlight tasks that are at risk. Task dashboards allow users to stay current on

projects and share status with anyone.

Found in the Insert Tab in the Map Data group (Mindjet Tasks).

Send Tasks to

SharePoint

Create Microsoft SharePoint tasks from a plan created in a map. The “Send Tasks to

SharePoint” feature uses the task title, assignee, priority, start/end date, and

percentage of completion to create tasks in Microsoft SharePoint. Map revisions are

immediately sent to SharePoint, and map topics can be refreshed to show SharePoint‟s

latest updates. The result is information in both the map and the SharePoint task stay

consistent as teams execute on tasks.

Found in the Home Tab, under Send Tasks To group (SharePoint).

Customize

Menus

Modify existing menus or create your own customizable ribbon menu. Users can keep

most-used commands visible for easy access and improved productivity.

Right click on the ribbon menu to see the customize ribbon option in the context menu.

Filter Overlay The filter overlay highlights when the map is not fully displayed and allows for a full map

view on the fly. This is indicated by a message displayed in the lower left-hand corner

of the map. The message appears when a map is filtered, to show branch alone is in

use, or the show/hide feature is in use. Found in the lower-left hand corner of the map

view when a filter is applied.

Numbering &

Icon Alignment

Icons (i.e. priority or progress) and topic numbering now top align with the topic text.

RESOLVED ISSUES IN VERSION 11.2.185

Export / Integrations

Issue: When the Microsoft Excel Linker add-in is disabled and user clicks „Send to Mindjet Map‟ in

Excel, some empty subtopics are created in the map.

Resolution: No topics are added to the map. The add-in must be enabled in the Mindjet app for this

functionality to work.

Issue: „Send to Mindjet Map‟ option should be disabled in Microsoft Word when all Word documents

are closed.

Resolution: Option is disabled.

Issue: HTML errors appear occasionally when sending/syncing some emails from Outlook to a map.

Resolution: Emails will sync as plain text avoiding HTML errors.

Issue: When importing over-utilized resources from Microsoft Project, the resources do not show as

over-utilized in the map.

Resolution: Fixed.

Issue: A task‟s resource load is not exported to Word.

Resolution: Resource load is now exported.

Issue: Sending a single task to Outlook 2003 creates an error when allowing for intermediate step of

editing the task prior to saving it in Outlook.

Resolution: Task is created automatically when sent to Outlook 2003 without the option to edit it

beforehand.

Marker Pane and the Marker Index

Issue: Custom icons show up twice in the Index tab when moved from Single Icon group to a newly

added icon group.

Resolution: Icons appear only in the newly added group.

Issue: Configure button is enabled while the indexing is in progress.

Resolution: Configure button is disabled.

Mindjet Files (formerly Mindjet Connect)

Issue: Copy Folder as Hyperlink is disabled both in the ribbon and the context menu when user has

Read-only rights to the folder, but has Edit rights individual maps within the selected folder.

Resolution: Option is enabled.

Issue: Edits made to a local map while it is being saved to Mindjet Files online are lost.

Resolution: Users may not edit a local map while it is being saved to Mindjet Files.

Issue: After saving a map from Mindjet Files locally it is opened as a read-only map.

Resolution: The local map is editable.

Issue: Exiting document opened at startup set in “Mindjet Options – General” allowed you to select a

Mindjet Folder (instead of a map).

Resolution: Unable to select a folder as existing document.

Issue: Marker Index does not show Priority icons when adding an Outlook Query to the Map.

Resolution: Icons are displayed in the Index tab.

Issue: Unable to copy the root folder of an account as a hyperlink.

Resolution: Copy as hyperlink is now enabled for the account‟s root folder.

Issue: When a local map opens after being downloaded from Mindjet Files online, the map icon is

wrong (indicating that it is still online).

Resolution: The correct icon is displayed indicating that it is a local map.

Issue: Inconsistent ability to show where hyperlinked files reside.

Resolution: Added ability in hyperlink‟s context menu to open the source location where the linked file

resides in Mindjet Files.

Issue: Unable to open Mindjet Files from the Open File dialog.

Resolution: Added option to browse and open Mindjet files from the Open File dialog.

Issue: When initially saving a local file to Mindjet Files, it is possible to continue editing the file while

the file is saving. Edits are lost in the process.

Resolution: While saving to Mindjet Files, the map becomes read-only and then becomes editable again

once the file is successfully saved online.

Miscellaneous

Issue: .NET error appears when Mindjet app is left running idle for a period of time.

Resolution: Error no longer appears.

Issue: Various localization/translation errors.

Resolution: Translations updated and the interface has been adjusted as needed to display text properly.

Issue: Various ribbon short cut keys were not working. Issues existed with duplicate short cut keys.

Resolution: Short cut keys were updated and now work correctly.

Issue: Search options are not saved across application sessions (e.g. include subfolders checkbox).

Resolution: Search options are now saved correctly.

Issue: Templates that use calculations included US currency.

Resolution: Currency field in updated for French and German templates with Calculations.

Issue: .NET error when taking a screenshot (with SnagIt) of „Add Database Connection‟ dialog in

Mindjet Options.

Resolution: No error appears.

Issue: App crashes in some instances after creating a style with a custom image.

Resolution: Fixed. App no longer crashes.

Issue: Search options defaulted to least commonly used search location criteria.

Resolution: Search now defaults to current map.

Issue: Control + Enter shortcut worked inconsistently.

Resolution: Control + Enter shortcut updated to create a new subtopic both when editing topic text and

when a topic is selected.

Tasks

Issue: If user does not have any projects in Mindjet Tasks, "Loading..." is displayed in the Send to

Mindjet Tasks dialog when trying to assign selected topic to an existing project.

Resolution: Fixed. Drop down list will be empty. User should create a new project the tasks need to be

assigned to a project.

Issue: Users unable to orient around today‟s date when viewing the Gantt chart.

Resolution: Today‟s date appears as a vertical line in the Gantt chart view.

Issue: Unable to query Mindjet Tasks by start date.

Resolution: Updated to allow queries by task start date.

Issue: Unable to read full email address when viewing Mindjet Tasks resources.

Resolution: Updated to display user name plus their email domain. Hovering over the user will display

their full email address in a tooltip.

Topic Properties

Issue: File Explorer map part‟s resulting topic properties are not Auto Fit when added to a map.

Resolution: Auto fit is applied to the map part‟s results.


Brainstorm

Issue: Error occurs when attempting to edit brainstorm branch sets after deleting all the default

branch sets.

Resolution: No error occurs.

Export/Integrations

Issue: Mindjet icons installed in Microsoft Office were difficult to find / access.

Resolution: Updated icons to appear in first tab of office application.

Issue: Mindjet crashes when user is on Office 2003 and Windows XP and Mindjet‟s connectivity with

the server is disabled using the registry key.

Resolution: Mindjet no longer crashes.

Issue: Mindjet crashes when user is on Office 2003 and Windows XP and user sends task to

Outlook.

Resolution: Mindjet no longer crashes.

Issue: Error occurs when you send an object from Outlook to Mindjet after you‟ve disabled the

Outlook integration within Mindjet.


Issue: Outlook query might return incorrect result based on your time zone.

Resolution: Query provides correct results.

Issue: Outlook 2010 crashes when sending multiple emails, appointments, or cancellations emails to

a Mindjet map.

Resolution: No crash.

Issue: Crash occurs when sending a map as Mindjet Viewer and Outlook hasn‟t been setup on your

machine.

Resolution: No crash.

Issue: Microsoft Office documents do not open in integrated browser.

Resolution: Office documents open in the integrated browser.

Issue: Mindjet‟s “Send to Mindjet” icons installed in Outlook 2010/32bit are missing.

Resolution: Icons are visible.

Issue: Incorrect message displayed when attempting to use Outlook features when Outlook isn‟t set

up yet.

Resolution: Proper message displayed.

Issue: Opening an attached or linked Office file in the integrated browser does not open again after

the browser was closed.

Resolution: The file or link opens in the browser.

General Usability

Issue: Files saved on network drives save slowly because Mindjet checks if the drive is a path for

SharePoint files.

Resolution: Option added to Mindjet Options with default setting to not check if the drive is a path for

SharePoint files. Users who access SharePoint drives from Mindjet will need to enable this

option in the Open & Save tab in Mindjet Options.

Issue: Msscript.ocx failed to unregister when uninstalling on Windows 8

Resolution: Uninstall occurs without errors.

Issue: A dotted line appears even though „no line‟ is selected for topic shapes that are special topics

(e.g. Linked topics, topics with properties).

Resolution: No line appears.

Install/Uninstall

Issue: Msscript.ocx failed to unregister when uninstalling on Windows 8

Resolution: Uninstall occurs without errors.

Marker Index

Issue: Mindjet crashes when user hits the configuration button in the Index pane.

Resolution: Configuration dialog opens.


Issue: Users with edit access are forced to open maps in edit mode.

Resolution: Option to open maps as read-only added.

Issue: When exiting Mindjet with pending changes that are being sent to the server, the pending

changes are lost.

Resolution: Mindjet asks whether you want to wait for the changes to save or to exit immediately.

Issue: When internet access turns off and back on or your system falls asleep, Mindjet doesn‟t

reconnect.

Resolution: Mindjet reconnects on Windows 7+.

Issue: Error and potential data loss on Windows XP when user comes back from Standby mode.

Resolution: No error or data loss occurs.

Issue: Status disappears almost immediately when interacting for large files.

Resolution: Status updates are maintained while opening, checking out, discarding checkout, and

checking in a file.

Issue: Error occurs when naming a file or folder as “..”

Resolution: No error.

Issue: Font color is not being applied during co-editing when another user moves the selected topic

Resolution: Changes made are visible to all participants in the coediting session.

Issue: During a coediting session, a user does not see the changes made by another user on a topic

with hyperlink that has been pasted in the map.

Resolution: Changes made are visible to all participants in the coediting session.

Issue: In the Japanese version, name does not show up in 'Selected users:' list when sharing to a

new person.

Resolution: The new user's name appears in 'Selected users:' list.

Issue: Mindjet appears to be connected for a few seconds after disconnecting your network giving

the impression that edits can still be made.

Resolution: Faster change to “disconnected” state implemented.

Issue: Sort Mindjet File versions not working when more than 10 versions exist.

Resolution: Sorting works correctly.

Miscellaneous

Issue: Numerous translation issues in German, French and Japanese.

Resolution: Translations added or improved.

Issue: Error occurs when embedded browser is open and computer goes to sleep.


Issue: In the German version, the URL/address bar disappears when the embedded browser is

expanded more than 50% of the screen.

Resolution: Address bar remains when the browser is expanded.

Issue: Short Cut CTRL+Backspace does not work in Text field of embedded browser and it operates

on the map itself.

Resolution: Short cut key works inside the browser without impacting the content of your map.

Issue: Short Cut CTRL+X does not work in the embedded browser and it operates on the map itself.

Resolution: Short cut key works inside the browser without impacting the content of your map.

Issue: The name of an online map does not change in the opened map‟s tab when the name is

changed in Mindjet Files.

Resolution: Name is updated in the tab.

Issue: Sorting a branch in some instances was causing Mindjet to crash.

Resolution: No crash occurs.

Issue: Error occurs when applying Facebook map part.

Resolution: Facebook and MySpace map parts were removed.

Tasks

Issue: Not possible for user to open Mindjet Tasks from the desktop application.

Resolution: Ribbon option added to Mindjet Task features to open Mindjet web to the Tasks feature.

Issue: Start date cannot be sent to Mindjet Tasks or synchronized with Mindjet Tasks.

Analysis Views

Issue: Newly created views retain topics from deleted views.

Resolution: New views do not contain topics from deleted views.

Issue: An unhandled exception occurs when creating a view when viewing a slide.

Resolution: Creating an analysis view is now possible while viewing a slide.

Issue: Export as Web Page sometimes freezes or crashes when using names maps with topic

names reserved by Windows for main topics (e.g. CON, PRN, NUL, COM1 to COM9, LPT1 to

LPT9).

Resolution: Error message is displayed and export is cancelled.

Issue: Topic Images don't display in the Mindjet Viewer maps.

Resolution: Topic images now display in the Viewer.

Issue: Export to Microsoft Project® fails if Save as type is set to 'Microsoft Project 2007".

the different languages.

Issue: Mindjet freezes and eventually crashes when clicking the New Map button in Mindjet Files

(formerly Mindjet Connect) window repeatedly.

Resolution: Mindjet no longer hangs or crashes.

Issue: The Add Comment button is disabled in the topic spreadsheet.

Resolution: The Add Comment button is now enabled.

Issue: The name in the workbook tabs do not change when a user enabled the "File names in

Workbook tabs" Mindjet option.

Issue: Progress and Priority icons are fuzzy when zooming to 400%.

Resolution: Progress and Priority icons are now in focus when zooming to 400%.

Install/Uninstall

Issue: The content of the clipboard is deleted after closing Microsoft Office® apps when Mindjet

(MindManager) add-in is enabled.

Resolution: The content of the clipboard now remains after closing Office apps.

Marker Index

Issue: The Marker Index is inactive when a topic is sent to a New Linked Map.

Resolution: Marker Index is now active when a topic is sent to New Linked Map.

Issue: An unhandled exception message appears upon on saving the changes in the Configure

dialog in a read only map.

Resolution: Fixed.

Issue: The Markers are truncated on the Index tab in certain operating systems.

Resolution: The Markers are no longer truncated on the Index tab.


Issue: Crash when deleting an online map that is still open on the desktop.

Resolution: Fixed. The app no longer crashes when deleting an online map that is still open.

Issue: Crash on startup due to an empty corrupted offline cache.

Resolution: No crash; the corrupted offline cache has been deleted.

Issue: Desktop app crashes when a web user deletes a topic with an attachment.

Resolution: Fixed.

Issue: Mindjet does not switch to Work Offline after the internet connection is disabled.

Resolution: Mindjet switches to Work Offline mode.

Issue: The list of users of an online map obscures the Show Map button when a slide is opened.

Resolution: The Show Map button is now easily visible and accessible.

Issue: When an online map is saved as a local map, the map icon stills indicates that it is an online

map.

Issue: Mindjet fails to reconnect after losing the network connection.

Resolution: Mindjet attempts to reconnect after losing the network connection.

Issue: When a map from Mindjet Files has its name changed, the new name is not in the Recent

Files list.

Resolution: Name changes are now reflected in the Recent Files list.

Issue: The Map Users indicator in the Map View shows incorrect information when multiple users are

editing or viewing the same map.

Resolution: The Map Users indicator in the Map View is seen and accessible by all users in the map.

Issue: When a user goes offline but is viewing an online map, it still appears to others as if the user

is online.

Resolution: An offline user no longer appears online to others.

Issue: Unable to connect if a user creates a new map while the status is showing “Connecting…”

Resolution: Mindjet will connect and the new map will be opened.

Issue: When leaving the Sign In box unattended for a few minutes, the sign in process doesn't work

anymore and an error appears.

Resolution: The sign in process now functions correctly as long as proper credentials are entered.

Issue: Data loss occurs in Topic Notes of a local map when an online map is also opened and Auto

Save takes place.

Resolution: No data loss. Topic notes are saved to the local map correctly.

Issue: When creating a hyperlink to a file stored online in Mindjet Files, only maps are displayed in

the files list.

Resolution: All online files are displayed in the list.

Issue: Data was lost during coediting if one user‟s computer goes into sleep mode.

Resolution: No data loss. Data integrity is preserved if a user‟s computer goes into sleep mode.

Issue: Different account details are displayed for users on the desktop and the web when an

account‟s main folder is selected.

Resolution: Correct and identical account information is now displayed for both desktop and web users.

Issue: Users do not automatically see changes in folders.

Resolution: Changes to folders are seen without refreshing.

Issue: A user is able to open a deleted Version from Recent Files list.

Resolution: A message now appears that the version has been deleted.

Issue: Only one Version of a file is deleted, even though multiple map versions have been selected.

Resolution: Only one Version of a file can be deleted at a time.

Issue: Recently opened Versions are not seen on Recent files list on Start Menu.

Resolution: Recently opened versions are now present on Start Menu Recent Files list.

Issue: If a user is viewing a checked out map (in read-only mode), and the map is checked back in,

the map doesn‟t get updated for the read-only user.

Resolution: Map content is now updated for all users and the map is no longer in read-only mode.

Issue: Members in the Access list of a folder or file are not listed in a sorted order.

Resolution: Members in the Access list of a folder or file are now listed in alphabetical order.

Issue: Copy and Paste a hyperlink for a topic in an online map points to a cached version of the map

Issue: If you enter your license key into the app after your trial has expired and a map is open, the

Issue: Using the Japanese version, the application may crash when Excel range is selected.

Issue: The desktop application currently lets you send summary roll-up task to Outlook or

SharePoint. Since the desktop expects these topics to be read-only and derives from their

subtopics, changing the dates from the source may present incorrect summary information in

the map.

Workaround: Avoid sending summary topics to Outlook or SharePoint.

Issue: Msscript.ocx fails to unregister when upgrading from 11.0.276 to 11.1.353 when using

Windows 8 machine with Office 2013.

Workaround: When you hit OK to the message dialog, the upgrade runs fine.

Issue: Mindjet Task is not refreshed if the map is opened as read-only.

Workaround: This is by design. No workaround.

KNOWN ISSUES IN VERSION 11.0.276 Issues that are shaded have been fixed.

Issue: Closing Mindjet without closing or saving each online map individually may lead to data loss in

maps that have changes but have not yet been auto-saved.

Workaround: Close each online map (press CTRL+W) or save each online map (press CTRL+S) before

closing the Mindjet application. To minimize risk, the auto-save option found in the Online

Access tab in Mindjet Options can be reset from 10 minutes to save more frequently.

Issue: In the Mindjet web application, it is possible to send the same task several times to Mindjet

Tasks.

Workaround: On the desktop, tasks sent to Mindjet Tasks are synchronized so they can only be sent once.

It is possible to disconnect the task from the online task and resend it to create another task

online.

Issue: The Mindjet web application doesn‟t display Mindjet Task topics with special icons. Online

maps created by the desktop with Mindjet Task topics (topics sent to Mindjet Tasks or Mindjet

Task Query results) will not appear as special, linked tasks.

Workaround: The Mindjet web application will be updated in the future.

Issue: The Mindjet web application allows users to update topic properties for Mindjet Tasks that

should be „read-only‟. For example, in the Mindjet web app, the task‟s Project is displayed as

a map tag that is editable. If the map is saved in the web app, and then opened in Mindjet for

Windows, the Project tag shows twice - once enabled and once disabled.

Workaround: The Mindjet web application will be updated in the future.

Issue: Reverting a map to a previous version creates a copy of the version and promotes it to be the

active map. The map is also checked out by default. If the map is immediately checked in, an

error results.

Workaround: Open the map using the desktop app and then check it in.

Issue: Multiple Power Filter or Power Select queries are not saved for Mindjet maps stored online.

Only the last saved query is visible.

Workaround: None.

Issue: A user is not able to save multiple queries in a map in Mindjet Files.

Workaround: None.

Issue: A Calculated property does not get updated when one of its input property values is modified

in MindManager 2012.

Workaround: Edit maps with calculated properties using Mindjet for Windows, version 11 or greater.

Issue: AutoCalc causes co-editing issues (e.g. users see different values in calculated properties)

when the map is edited by a user in MindManager 2012, version 10.2.404 (or earlier) and by

another user with Mindjet for Windows version 11.

Workaround: Only co-edit maps with calculated properties using Mindjet for Windows, version 11 or

greater.

Issue: When using AutoCalc to create a series of Min/Max calculated properties in a branch, the

Define limits option is enabled for the input properties on the children.

Workaround: The limits aren‟t enforced; you can define the properties and set the limits or disable it as

needed.

Issue: The Resources field in the Task Info task pane doesn‟t display the new Resources menu.

Workaround: Expand the task pane by dragging it wider to display the Resource menu.

Issue: In Analysis View, an unhandled exception occurs when two maps have two or more views

and both are open at the same time.

Workaround: If this occurs, start Windows task manager, select the Mindjet app, and select End Task.

Restart Mindjet.

Issue: In Analysis View, Topics get clustered towards the middle of view when multiple views are

created for several maps.

Workaround: Close the Analysis View window before creating new maps and new views for the other maps.

Issue: In Analysis View, an incorrect view is displayed when two or more maps that have Analysis

REMOVED FEATURES

REMOVED FEATURES IN VERSION 11.2.185

Print to PDF

The ability to print to PDF has been removed. Instead, users can use the export to PDF operation which yields

the same result.

Preserve Compatibility of PDF export

The ability to preserve compatibility with older versions of Acrobat is no longer supported by the PDF export.


Facebook and MySpace Map Parts

The map parts for Facebook and MySpace were removed as these services had errors and the APIs were being

deprecated by the third parties.


Apply markers from the Marker Index pane

There are several refinements to the resource marker list related to integration of action resources. Since

applying markers through the marker index is a duplication of the map marker pane, it seems better to remove

this ability instead of duplicating all the fixes in the marker pane. This feature is off by default, so this change will

only affect a small subset of the user-base.

Support for Microsoft Vista

As of Mindjet for Windows version 11, Mindjet will not fully support Microsoft Vista®. The app should still install

and there aren‟t any expected new OS specific issues.

Bing Map Part

As Microsoft no longer offers a free web service, this feature has been discontinued.
