The deadline for MKE Peace Project entriesis being extended to ensure extra time for teamsto submit proposed solutions to neighborhoodviolence in the city. Choice prizes includingtickets to Brewers and Bucks games, as well asfree admission to Summerfest are up forgrabs for teams offering their ideas.

The project, proposed by Common Council

President Michael J. Murphy and approved asan official city initiative by the full CommonCouncil is challenging youth in the centralcity to initiate, at the group level, an assessmentof the factors that contribute to violence in theirneighborhoods and, subsequently, to provide asolution to the problem. Youth are being askedto submit written entries to be considered for

the project, and an array of prizes are alsobeing offered for the top entries (see theattached for prize information).

MPP submissions are due no later than 5p.m. on Friday, June 5, and winners will beannounced at the Common Council Meetingon Tuesday, June 23.

Students attending middle schools and

high schools across Milwaukee are etake part in the MKE Peace Project. Tlist of eligible schools, and to learn molocate entry information, please go to waukee.gov/mkepeaceproject .
