Bona Fide Films, Inc., President and Executive Director November 2012 — Present / bonafidefilms.org Bona Fide Films is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that produces educational films for public benefit.

Golden Poppy Productions, LLC, Owner June 1996 – Present / goldenpoppy.com Founder and principal of Golden Poppy Productions, a production company that produces commercially oriented films as well as events, plans, books, blogs, and television shows.

A Permanent Mark: Agent Orange in America and Vietnam, Director and Producer, Post-production / apermanentmark.com I am producing and directing the feature-length documentary, “A Permanent Mark.” This is a strong character-driven film for national broadcast that fully integrates the story of Americans exposed to Agent Orange with the story of Vietnamese people still contending with the toxic herbicide. While "A Permanent Mark" is about events that have their origin in the Vietnam War, the film deals with universal themes of war that are relevant today. "A Permanent Mark" shows that war persists, long after we declare “mission accomplished.”

Jack London: Twentieth Century Man, Co-Producer, Post-production / jacklondonfilm.com I am co-producing "Jack London: 20th Century Man," a 90-minute documentary film about one of America’s most popular literary and cultural figures — author, lecturer, photographer and adventurer, Jack London. London is known by many only for his stories of dogs and survival in the Yukon, but this film aims to expose the public to the full range of his prodigious output, including stories set in Hawaii and Melanesia, his ground-breaking reporting and non-fiction, his inconsistent but important portrayals of race and his voluminous photographic archive from his travels around the world. The film will also show Jack London as more than merely a popular writer; his self-made myth made him a major cultural figure of his time, providing a bridge for the reading public from the Victorian Age to the Progressive Era. "Jack London: 20th Century Man" will explore the evolving racial, social, and cultural attitudes in the early 20th Century by tracing London’s own fitful evolution on these subjects during his eventful life. Directed by Chris Million.

The Rugby Player, Producer, Distribution / therugbyplayerfilm.com I produced the feature documentary film, "The Rugby Player," which explores the life of a man who became a hero on 9/11. Mark Bingham was a protective son, loyal friend, successful businessman, championship rugby player, and the life of the party. On United Flight 93, Mark helped lead a revolt of passengers against armed hijackers, preventing the plane from reaching its target. "The Rugby Player" relates the life of an ordinary person who played an extraordinary role on 9/11 and explores themes of individual responsibility, stereotypes, and the true nature of heroism. The film had a sneak-preview screening at the Castro Theater in San Francisco during the 35th Annual Frameline Film Festival and received a seven-minute standing ovation from a sold-out crowd of three thousand people. The film had its official world premiere screening April 29, 2013 at the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and has since screened in over 50 cities worldwide on five continents, including having had its broadcast debut on Australian national television. In 2015, the film had its U.S. television broadcast premiere on KQED Public Television in the San Francisco Bay Area. Directed by Scott Gracheff.

It Came From Kuchar, Producer, Distribution / kucharfilm.com I produced the feature-length documentary film, "It Came From Kuchar," including securing over $110,000 in funds to produce the film. The film had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March 2009 and subsequent television broadcast on the Documentary Channel and IFC. "It Came from Kuchar" tells the story of George Kuchar, a pioneering member of the 1960s New York Underground film scene who became a film godfather to many directors. Such well-known directors as John Waters, David Lynch, Atom Egoyan, and Todd Solondz — as well as dimmer lights in the trash-film firmament — owe a huge debt to George Kuchar. Directed by Jennifer Kroot.

Changing Room, Producer, Director, and Screenwriter, Distribution I directed, wrote, and produced "Changing Room," a comedy that tells the story of three women whose secret body-image problems are exposed in a high-end women’s clothing boutique. Full of fun visuals, and even a cowgirl gunfight, "Changing Room" puts a whole new spin on subjects of universal feminine concern, combining rich fantasy, over-the-top comedy, inventive storylines, and “surprises around every corner” to treat serious subjects. Broadcast premiere on PBS in 2005 and re-aired in 2006.

Blindspot: Murder by Women, Fundraising Consultant, 1999 A documentary by Oscar-winning filmmakers Allie Light and Irving Saraf that premiered in 2000.

Everyday Heroes, Fundraising Consultant, 1999 A documentary by Oscar-nominated director Rick Goldsmith that premiered in 2001.

A Story of Healing, Fundraising Consultant, 1996 I raised principal funding for this documentary featuring the work of Interplast, a nonprofit organization whose medical volunteers provide free reconstructive surgery for disfigured children and young adults in developing countries. "A Story of Healing" won the 1997 Academy Award for best short-subject documentary.
