We would venture to say that most of you reading this newsletter could name a handfulof churches in your area within a matter of seconds. We have driven through some townsthat seem to have a church on every other corner.Churches are within easy access in our area of theworld. In Ukraine, though, there are hundreds of cities and villages with no church at all.

SEND International is in the businessof establishing reproducing churches. Planting achurch is just the beginning, and establishing areproducing church goes one step further.According to SEND, a reproducing church is agroup of people who have a great commissionvision for their neighborhood, their city, their country, and the rest of the world .

We recently heard about a church plantin Kiev that is becoming a reproducing church.Missionaries planted the church and as the churchbegan to grow, Ukrainians took on leadershippositions. Now, the Ukrainian leadership has

embraced the need for churches in other areas of the city and are working to plant another church.Isnt it wonderful to know and see that Godslove compels His people to reach out to others?

Starting a church seems like a dauntingtask, but amazing things can happen if you are

willing to let God use you. Building a friendship,starting a conversation with a neighbor, inviting afriend to a Bible study, teaching a simple Biblelesson, answering simple questions about your faith, teaching a new believer how to pray, andmodeling basic Christian living are all building

blocks in starting a church. These building blocksare used to evangelize, disciple, and mentor unbelievers into a relationship with Jesus Christ.Rooting new believers into fellowship is Godsway of making sure they grow and mature in their faith.

Along with serving at Kiev ChristianAcademy and Kyiv Theological Seminary, we will

be involved in church planting. Our hope is thatAndy will work alongside a Ukrainian pastor within a young church. Andys main focus would

be discipling the youth of the church, kind of like ayouth pastor.

Establishing reproducing churches inUkraine is an exciting opportunity! Ukraine has

been labeled as the evangelical hub of Christianity for the entire former Soviet Union. A

brochure from SEND says, While many villagesand cities still need churches we also believe that Ukraine will become a major mission force taking the gospel to the nations .
