Solution: Provide ongoing feedback and be transparent about how each worker’s responsibilities contribute to project/goals.
Solution: Give formal evaluations – particularly in the early going.
They Are Needy!
They Are Entitled!Millennials question formality. Judge more on outcomes than titles.
Technology drives desire for flexibility.
Challenge: “Because it’s always been that way,” and, “Because I said so” have no weight.
Solution: Listen to their concerns. They may be right! If not, be transparent about why they are incorrect.
Solution: Flexibility and access to technology will make Gen Y more productive and happy
They are Disloyal!• Millennials are the most mobile generation in the workplace.
• Challenge: Despite their youth, they want to feel valued and recognized for their achievements. “Paying your dues” does not fly
• Solution: Gen Y want to feel valued and needed – this is more important than being promoted
• Solution: Look for opportunities to train and develop Gen Y workers. It will add to loyalty

Give them the big picture
Make them feel needed and wanted
Understand their unique needs
Give opportunities to give back to community/world
