Bulgaria is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Europe. The temperate climate, combined with snow in the mountains and fine sand at the Black Sea coast presents variable opportunities for holidays at any time of the year. These exceptional opportunities are available through the services offered by the Executive Agency “Military Clubs and Military Recreation Activities” which provides alternatives for recreation to military and civilian servants working in the structures of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and the Bulgarian Army.

The Agency manages 12 hotels and military rest homes in the mountains and at the seaside, which provide recreation and relaxation to the Bulgarian army officers and civilian officials from the Ministry of Defence and the subordinates of the Minister of Defence.

Moreover, in the military rest homes and in the hotels under the management of the Agency we organize group and individual tours and vacations for officers and civilian officials from the partner-countries within CLIMS and for other parties on the basis of bilateral agreements of exchange of vacationers.

EA “Military Clubs and Military Recreation Activities” manages all 49 military clubs in Bulgaria, developing military-patriotic, social, informational, cultural and artistic activities and supporting their image as spiritual centers and bridges between officers of the Bulgarian Army and the civil society.

The Agency provides information services for the management of the Ministry of Defence and it is responsible for the military media - Military TV channel, "Bulgarian Army" newspaper and the magazine "Bulgarian Soldier”.

From 28.08.2009 the Executive Director of EA “Military Clubs and Military Recreation Activities” is Ms Mariya Dimcheva. She has got Master of Laws degree. She has worked as a junior judge, and a counselor for the Ministry of Interior and as a lawyer in Sofia Bar Association. She has specialized in the National Democratic Institute of U.S.A. in Bulgaria in the programme “Active Participation of Women in Politics” as well as in "Robert Schuman” Institute in the Programme for young politician leaders from Central and Southeastern Europe.

On 12.10.2010 she was elected the Vice President of "CLIMS".

At the seaside“St. St. Constantine and Elena” is the first Bulgarian seaside resort. It is located 8 km north of Varna at a 3.5

km long beach. The complex is advantageous with the existence of 7 mineral water springs with depth between 1800 m and 2050 m and with temperature of the water between 40°C - 60°C.

The holiday complex “FLOTILIA” is located in a beautiful park at the beach and consists of “Flagman” hotel and the military rest homes “Admiral”, “Fregata” and “Mayak”. The complex offers conference halls; sports facilities such as tennis courts and volleyball playground; a fitness centr? ; a balneology and spa center and an open pool with hot mineral water.

Hotel “Flagman”

”Flagman" hotel offers 210 beds total in rooms and apartments. The hotel is 1st line at the beach.Two restaurants - "The Terrace", "Romantic" and a bar are available for the guests offering high quality services. Summer garden, two swimming pools with mineral and sea water, pearl baths, hydrotherapy and sauna provide excellent opportunities for recreation and balneology rehabilitation.

The military rest home “Sozopol” is about 250 m from the beach. It offers 168 beds in total.Two swimming pools, a park, a restaurant and an open bar near the swimming pools are available to the guests. The restaurant has a capacity of 220 seats and it has a separate children's corner.

The unique architecture and the Old Town as well the natural reserve of Ropotamo river (20 km south) are some of the places of interest worth to visit and get known with.

At the seasideMilitary Rest Home "Nessebar"

The military rest home "Nessebar” has a central three-storey hotel building with three frames and luxury bungalows with a total of 556 beds.A swimming pool with length of 25 m, children swimming pool, Jacuzzi, volley-ball playground, rent-a-bike and children's playground are available to guests. The main restaurant has 300 seats, but except it there is a summer-garden restaurant named “Siren”, with 40 seats, and a water bar “Hawaii” with 20 seats.

Places of interest in the area of Nessebar are historical and architectural monuments starting from Tracian through Greek, Roman and Bysantian times.

Holiday Village/Camping “Chaika”

"Chaika”, which means seagull, is located 4 km south of the town of Obzor. It offers 97 beds in 29 bungallows each with a kitchenette and a separate bathroom. You have the space for your tenting as well. The solitude of the camping among the greeness of the oak tree forest create perfect conditions for relaxation and recreation.

BOROVETS is the oldest Bulgarian mountain resort. It is placed at the foot of mount Musala (2 925 m) at the northern slope of Rila mountain at 1 300 m above sea level.

The resort is about 70 km away from the capital of the country and at around 120 km away from Plovdiv. It attracts mainly with the variety of ski slopes – a total of 24 with length of 58 km. There are slopes suitable for all: beginners and young children, for advanced skiers and professionals.

The military rest home “Borovets” has 90 beds and offers tourists a restaurant, lobby bar, room for business meetings, conference hall, fitness, ski wardrobe and a parking. It operates during the winter season - from 1 December to 31 March.

In the mountains

The mountain resort of Pamporovo is situated 1650 meters above sea level, at the foot of mount “Snezhanka” in the Rhodope Mountains – Southern Bulgaria.

It is about 260 km away from the city of Sofia and on your way going south from Plovdiv the nearest town is Chepelare - 10 km north before the resort.

Although the main tourist flow is during the winter because of the favourable ski runs and slopes of different difficulty, with length of more than 34 km for ski-running and another 17 km for alpine skiing, the resort offers in all seasons of the year paths for hiking. The nearby places of interest are such as unique caves and you can also experience the rich in culture and history Rhdopean traditions.

Hotel ”Harmony” is newly renovated and has 53 double rooms, 4 suites, a restaurant with 160 seats and a tavern with 40 seats.

Bowling, basketball, volleyball, tennis court, barbecue, spa center, swimming pool, 3 types of saunas and tangentors are available to guests. For the youngest there is a separate area for individual games and activities.
