UP Sports Drink Re-brand and Re-package

In this project I re-branded UP sports drink so that it is geared to more than athletes, and broadens the target audience to include college students, stay-at-home parents, and business people. The new design had to promote the beverage as a healthy drink, and be able to grab, and keep, the attention of the consumer. This was achieved by incorporating a see-through area that looks like a fuel gauge with status level, so the consumer can monitor how much he or she has consumed, while keeping them entertained.

Thor Skate Wear T– shirt Packaging

This packaging was created for Thor Skateboard company designer shirts. The semi–transparent materail used give the buyer a small sneak peak of what the graphics on the shirt are. At the same time the material creates a level of curiosity, making the buyer want to open the package.

Messy Expressive Word

This poster consists of three pictures documenting a mess made of latex gloves that have been hand stamped with the word messy to further express the word. I chose to express messy by using Arial, because it is seen as Microsoft’s sloppy rendition of Helvetica. By hand-cutting the word, it further made a mess of an already messy font. I chose to use latex gloves because they are used to keep ourselves clean, but at the same time we see them as dirty.

Flatland A Romance of Many

Dimensions

Flatland Re-purposing

This is a single sheet of the book Flatland, by Edwin A. Abbott, that I have re-purposed as a box set of posters with annotations. The book has been designed so that it will help the reader learn how to control their dreams, and use them as a vehicle between dimensions. Each chapter is made up of two pieces that need to be taped together. Each chapter has a poster on one side, and the story, which has its important aspects highlighted, on the other. The annotations teach the reader about how they can control their dreams. The combination of assembling, viewing, and reading before bed, as the reader is instructed to do, further fuels their dreams.

Web Date Web Banners & Branding

Web Date wanted a full set of new web advertisements that expressed their service as a social networking site, and discouraged the sexual image that their sister site was showing itself as. Each ad uses icons and type in a playful and humorous manner to get the user’s attention. By using icons, the user is presented with the challenge of figuring out the message and is more likely to remember the add.

Beyond the Compass Beyond the Square Exhibition Web Site

Beyond the Compass Beyond the Square is an exhibition, located in Mt. Vernon next to the Walters Art Museum, that was curated by student and featured art by students at Maryland Institute College of Art. I was in charge of building and designing the exhibition web site. The site is done purely in HTML and CSS, and is designed based on the style guide that was created by the Graphic Design team. Shown are the “home page” and “Who made it possible page”.
