The year is 2013 and HKW, a local handball team from Waasmunster in Belgium, is having its best showing at Partille Cup by far. After qualifying for the knock-out stages, they come across a very strong team to which they come up on the short side. However, luck is on the Belgian's side, because the winning team has their flight home booked and have to forfeit the tournament, which consequently means that HKW can continue to go on in Partille Cup. In the quarter-finals, they come up against a familiar foe in a fellow Belgian team. After a dramatic match which went to extra time and even a golden goal, it was the best player of the team, Quinten Colman, who scored the deciding penalty, which meant ecstasy amongst all players. The journey of HKW went all the way to the B-finals in 2013. Unfortunately, they came across a much stronger team in that final and did not stood a chance against them. But if there is one thing that all of the Belgian players would say about that year is that silver never looked as much as gold as in that particular moment!
