The segregation requirements are relaxed in proximity to termination points that provide connection toterminal equipment (i.e. the telecommunications outlets of EN 50173-2 or their equivalent within application-specific cabling designs). The relaxation is to allow information technology cabling and mains power cablingto be installed in close proximity in small cross-sectional area cable management systems such as trunkingand pillars.Provided that the applicable power cabling factor (P) is no greater than 1, the value of A = 0 mm for a distanceof up to 15 m from the termination point.NOTE 1 National regulations may require a barrier or greater separation.NOTE 2 Certain combinations of information technology cabling and mains power cabling products may allow the relaxationdistance to be increased in accordance with the instructions provided by their suppliers. Such implementations lie outside the scopeof this standard and may restrict the flexibility of the pathways to be used for other products.
