Impact/Benefit• Prakruthi is a program aiming to make autistic individuals socially acceptable

using behavioral modification and sensory integration.

• The unit, at present has 14 children within the age range of 5 to 14 years

• The unit offers a complete program that is individualized for each child – including special education, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech therapy.

• The children in this unit also receive special therapies such as music therapy and art therapy, that contributes to a notable extent in the progress of a child.

• Individuals with autism require one- on-one sessions to successfully implement the individualized programmers and hence the teacher: student ratio should ideally be 2:1

• The funding would provide for the 5 resource therapists, 1 art teacher and an ayah who are permanently employed at Shristi, in addition to a music teacher who comes in to school thrice a week, as a consultant
