Background• MRAC, has been the operator and umbrella organization over the ICF-

MRC.• ICF has decided to support two conferences in North America each year.

This does not preclude other conferences from happening. • ICF has put out a call for applications for one of two spots to become a

North American Global Conference.

• Regional conferences will benefit greatly from being selected as a Global Conference.

Assumptions

• To discuss the options available to MRAC, the Umbrella Organization over MRC, to apply to be an ICF Global Conference.

• Develop a strategy, if it is decided to apply, to become an ICF Global Conference.

Global Conference FAQ’s

What is the advantage to applying to host an ICF Global Conference vs. hosting a Chapter event?

Chapters approved to host an ICF Global Conference will benefit from ICF Global staff support in a number of areas, including branding, marketing, promotion, and advice and best practice templates that ICF Global staff has developed over the years.

ICF Chapters hosting events and conferences other than an ICF Global Conference can promote their event on ICF's website calendar; however, they will not receive the tools and support as mentioned

above.

Does ICF Global provide seed money to ICF Global Conference hosts?

No, ICF Global Conferences are to be self-funded, and any profits produced are dispersed at the discretion of the host Chapters. A sample of a funding strategy is available as a reference on the Application page.

In addition to fully completing the online application, what other details or documents are required?

Acknowledgement that Chapters read, understand and agree to the ICF Global Conference agreement if their application is accepted

Signed agreement page from the ICF Global Conference Marketing Manual from all chartered Chapters applying

Completed conference committee template, providing a list of proposed conference steering committee members and their roles

When will notification be sent as to whether an application is approved?

ICF Global staff will do their utmost to review and respond to applications by July 1, 2013. However, not knowing the number of submissions, ICF Global reserves the right to extend the review period and will update submitters, if necessary, with the revised timeline by July 1, 2013.
