THANK YOU

Dear Friends, thank you for your generous contributions to the MFK programs: Cancer Treatment facilities, Cancer Support Group and Hospices. YOU made and continue to make a difference in the lives of Russian elderly, oncology patients and hospice

residents! Thank you again for your compassion.

TIVAS (totally implantable vascular access devices)

a/k/a access ports (e.g. Celsite)

• MFK raised almost $5,000 last year (2012) and Yuliya went to Russia in June 2012 and bought 12

sets of Celsite (access ports) used for administering chemotherapy to oncology patients. The Celsite access ports produced by BBraun (a US based

medical device manufacturer) are now available for purchase in Russia.

BBraun in Russia

• In the spring of 2012 we learned that BBraun has two subsidiaries in Russian Federation;

• We identified and located BBraun distributors in Kaliningrad and inquired whether the ports can be ordered from Bbraun’s subsidiary in St. Petersburg

• The response was “Yes!”

• MFK entered into an agreement with the Kaliningrad medical devices’ distributors and our Celsite ports were successfully shipped to Kaliningrad where Yuliya finalized the purchase.

What is the function of access ports (Celsite)?

• Treatment of patients (e.g. in oncology, haematology, internal medicine) often requires long-term vascular or extra-vascular access connected to an access port for drug delivery, drainage, blood sampling, transfusions,

TPN... An implantable device made of a reservoir connected to a catheter that enables continuous access can increase the patients’ quality of life. Using Celsite® Access Ports for long-term treatment delivery provides

numerous advantages for patients, nursing staff, physicians and hospital administrators

CELSITE Indication

Venous access ports are intended to be used for repeated intra-venous administration of, for

example, chemotherapy, antibiotic and anti-viral drugs, parenteral nutrition, blood sampling or

transfusion. Certain Celsite® Access Ports may be used for Contrast Enhanced Computerised

Tomography (CECT) using high pressure injection.
