You are expected to actively participate and contribute to this project, if not, you WILL NOT receive any credit. Midterm Collaboration ProjectThis is a group project using Google Drive. Groups will be assigned. You are expected to actively participate and contribute to this project, if not, you WILL NOT receive any credit.

Group Scenario: Your group is starting a new business and will need to create some documents to promote or sell your products or services. Using Google Docs, your group will create a business letter and a flyer. Using Google Slides, your group will create a presentation.

Things to do:

Create a Google account. If you already have one you can use it. Note: If you already have a Google account, the screens may look different.

Reach out to your group members, share ways to communicate (email/text).

Discuss your availability with members and responsibilities

Give your Google ID’s to your group members

1.As a group, decide on the type and name of a business.

2.Using Google Docs, create a Professional Business Letter. (28 points)This letter will introduce your products or services to the community or a business.Sample letter format:

3.Using Google Docs, create a flyer. (28 points)This flyer will introduce your products or services to the community or a business.

4.Using Google Slides, create a presentation. (28 points) This presentation will serve as an introduction to your business that promotes your products or services to the community or a business. You must include a slogan/motto, and answer the question “Why should I choose your business as opposed to a competitor?”

5.Within Google Docs, add the MindMeister add-ons to create a Mind Map. (10 points)Use this Mind Map to show your instructor each member’s contribution to the project. Take a screen shot of the Mind Map using the Snipping tool and save in a Word document. Save the document in the Group folder.

6.One group member will create and share a folder with all other group members and instructor within Google Drive. Next, that group member will create 4 new blank files (3 Docs and 1 Slides). Note, all files included in the shared folder will automatically be shared. (6 points)

Grading Rubric

A Shared folder with all group members and instructor. If not, no points will be awarded. Be sure to include all group members’ full names in all files. The folder name should be the name of your business.

Points will be awarded based on each student’s contribution

Students are required to contribute and review group members work

Points will be deducted for spelling and grammatical errors

All images must be cited in MLA, unless they are from public domain

1.Share your work with your instructor using Alternatively, you can create a shareable link of your folder.

2.In Blackboard, click on Assignments, select Midterm Collaboration Project, type “ready” in the submission or comments area, then click submit. If creating a shareable link type the link in the comments section of the assignment tool.

To Create a New Folder, File, or Upload – For all new

accounts

1.Click on New and select one of the following

It is recommended that one student create and share a

folder with all other group members and instructor

within Google Drive. Next, that student will create 4

new blank files (3 Docs and 1 Slides). Note, all files

included in the shared folder will automatically be

shared. The files must be created in Docs and Slides,

otherwise you won’t be able to collaborate.
