INTRODUCTION

Here's an elegant piece that you can wear at evening parties and formal occasions. The peach color of the pearls makes the piece look subtle. The bronze adds sparkle while the black makes the piece mysterious and mystical, thus; the name Midnight

Mystique is just perfect. In this tutorial, you'll learn another technique how to create a circular component that you can use to create a bracelet, necklace and earrings.

Constructing the necklace uses popular beading techniques such as Peyote Stitch used to create the components, Right Angle Weave to connect the components and

a few Ladder Stitches.

The tutorial is catered for advanced students. Basic knowledge of the stitches mentioned above is essential to create the piece. It has in-depth instructions and

ultra-clear, close-up photos at each step. Additionally, you can ask me question you have on the tutorial. No more getting stuck and frustrated on a confusing or just plain

inaccurate pattern.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: 1st round Cut about 20 inches beading thread. Pick up 6 twin beads and form a circle, leaving about 6 to 7 inches tail. This is your 1st round. Note: You may tie a knot to secure the thread or you may pass the thread into the twin beads several times.

Step 2: 2nd round

Insert a 3mm pearl in between the twin beads. Pick up a 3mm pearl and in counter-clockwise direction pass the thread into the next twin bead. Remember the twin beads have 2 holes so pass the thread into the upper hole like shown in this picture.

Page 28: MIDNIGHT MYSTIQUE BEADING & JEWELRY MAKING TUTORIAL … · 2013. 9. 5. · Starting with 14 pcs 11/0 seed beads create a strip of Peyote Stitch. Pick up 11/0 seed bead, skip the next

Step 26:

Repeat Step 15 and weave a 3mm pearl, twin bead and 3mm pearl, shown in yellow circle.

Step 27: Pass the thread into several beads and come out a twin bead from opposite side. Looking at this picture you need to weave and attach your briolette.

Page 29: MIDNIGHT MYSTIQUE BEADING & JEWELRY MAKING TUTORIAL … · 2013. 9. 5. · Starting with 14 pcs 11/0 seed beads create a strip of Peyote Stitch. Pick up 11/0 seed bead, skip the next

Repeat again Step 15. Coming out of a 3mm pearl, pass through the twin bead and make U-turn and pass the 2nd hole of the twin bead. String 2 pcs 3mm pearls, briolette, 2 pcs 3mm pearls and pass the twin bead again. Make a U-turn and going up, pass the other hole of the twin bead and then come out a 3mm pearl. Secure your thread by passing through several beads, tie a knot and cut off excess thread.

Step 28: Repeat Steps 25 to 27 and create a pair. Attach a jump ring and ear wires and voila! Your Midnight Mystique Earrings!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I consider myself a late bloomer when it comes to crafting. I’m a self-taught jewelry

maker. Jewelry making wasn’t really a hobby of mine, but unforeseen events lead

me to learn jewellery making. My family put up a craft store where we sell cross

stitch, beads and all sorts of crafting materials. I fell in love with the beads and tried

to create accessories only for myself. Clients liked the pieces and I started

customizing handmade jewelleries. The craft store was a success for 6 years, but

like any other small businesses we had to close it down and I was confined to

staying at home. While at home I had all the time using the internet and now working

as a home-based jewelry designer
