I certainly enjoyed some me in the garden and doing a bit of spring cleaning around the home. Term 4 is always a busy term, though Im not sure theres a term that isnt busy nowadays! Please keep your eye out for the weekly newsleer and Facebook to make sure you know whats happening. It was pleasing to see that most children returned to school today. The Educaon Act provides that children should be enrolled and aending school every day that it is open for lessons. Of course we understand that there are mes when children are not able to aend, including reasons such as sickness. It is important that you let the school know within 7 days from the first absence the explanaon for your child being away. You can do this through a note to the class teacher, a phone call or email to the school, or through the Skoolbag app. I will be working with the staff this term to streamline our processes to ensure aendance is monitored regularly and contact made with parents where appropriate and I appreciate your support with this. When students are at school every day, they have the best possible chance of learning and improving their skills. This week we have the White Cross Mobile Dental Care at our school. Many parents have already returned the permission note which was due last term. If you missed this, please obtain another copy from the school as there may be some appointment mes available at the end of the week, though no guarantees! I have been working with a Graphic Designer to update the School emblem as the only version we had available at the school did not allow us to use it for a wide variety of publicaons and purposes. Id be interested in hearing your opinions on the opons provided to me. Please note that the emblem itself has not been changed – some different mono and colour opons have been created. Robotics Workshop

During the last week of Term 3, students from Years 1-6 spent half a day participating in a variety of technology activities relating to coding and programming. This opportunity was brought to the school by Western Student Connections from Dubbo. All students were led through engaging workshops in which they learnt about how robots work. They experimented with coding to program their Robots to make them move and perform. Students experienced working with Scratch Jnr, Blue Bots, OZOblocks and Ozobots. They also had the opportunity to watch a Sphero demonstration as well as a explore some coding techniques with this robot. The students thoroughly enjoyed the workshops and had lots of fun experimenting with different coding

techniques.

Well Done MPS Girls Soccer Team!

We are so incredibly proud of these 14 young ladies who showed exceptional skill, sportsmanship, determination and positive attitude throughout the entire PSSA Soccer competition. The girls travelled to Sydney to play against Engadine West Public School in the quarter finals at the end of last term. They played magnificiantly against a tough, highly skilled team and demonstrated fantastic team work. Unfortunately the girls lost the game on the day, however, these girls can proudly say that they are one of the top 8 teams in the state, as well as Western Region Champions. A huge thank you goes to Kevin Medlyn for assisting our team with coaching this season. Thank you to all the volunteers, parents and families who have supported us on this adventure! We couldn’t have done it without you! It has been a pleasure to manage the team this season. Ms Charlton
