Come earn an agility title on your beginner dog in a trial atmosphere! The Agility Course Test is an entry level agility event to introduce beginning dogs and/or handlers to the sport of agility. Dogs must be 15 months or older to enter and must meet the requirements for a regular AKC agility trial (Chapter 1, Section 3), except that they do not need to be registered with AKC to enter.

ACT Level 1 is open to dogs that have not earned any AKC agility titles. The course will have 10-12 obstacles: 5’ A-frame, table, tunnels, and bar jumps (no spread jumps); tire & panel jumps are allowed but not required. Time for all jump heights is 60 seconds with a minimum score of 85 to Qualify. Two Qualifying runs earn the title – ACT1.

ACT Level 2 is open to dogs that have not earned a title in any AKC Agility class except an ACT1 title. Level 2 courses have 11-13 obstacles: all of the obstacles in Level 1 plus a teeter, 6 weaves, tire, and 1 spread jump (triple, double, or broad); the dog walk is allowed but not required. Time for all jump heights is 70 seconds with a minimum score of 85 to Qualify. Two Qualifying runs earn the title – ACT 2.

Refusals & Run-outs are not judged. More than 3 attempts at an obstacle will result in an elimination (failure). The rest of the faults are the same as in the regular agility classes. All passing scores can be under the same judge. Only one dog in the ring at a time.

Dogs may be entered at any of the following jump height divisions: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 inches, handler’s choice. A jump height card is not required. Dogs will not be measured.

LEASHES: ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES, EXCEPT WHEN CRATED, IN THE RING, OR IN At the handler’s option, dogs may run a course with or without a collar. The only collars allowed when running a course are flat buckle or rolled leather collars, but there shall be no attachments hanging or otherwise allowed on the collar. This shall not preclude painted or stitched designs or information on the collar. Dog’s names and/or identifying information may appear on the collar. No title, awards, or advertising may appear on the collar. Dogs may be brought to the start line on slip leads, choke chains, body harnesses or other collars that are permitted on the trial grounds.A leash may not have excess material dangling from it, nor may it have any attachments including a fleece or leather wrap. The leash may have a single pick-up bag and/or identification tag attached to it.

ELIGIBILITY OF DOGS. All dogs fifteen (15) months of age or older may enter a test. Dogs must be physically sound as described in Chapter 1, Section 3, Paragraph 7 of the Regulations for Agility Trials. In order to acquire the title certificate and have the title added to a dog’s record, the dog must be registered/listed with the AKC Canine Partner applications may be accepted at the test by the judge/evaluator and submitted with test results.

HEALTH: Owners/handlers should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to ensure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.BITCHES IN SEASON shall not be permitted to compete.

MIXED BREEDS. All mixed breed dogs are welcome to participate in the AKC ACT Program. Under “Breed” on the entry form, dogs must be listed as “All American” and not as a breed hybrid. If you would like to register your dog with AKC, we will be able to assist you with on-line registration at the event.Dogs that are not AKC registered/listed may participate and their performance will be recorded by the AKC under a temporary recording number. This temporary recording number will be e-mailed to the owner and must be used when entering subsequent ACT events and when the owner registers/lists the dog. Note: Temporary recording numbers may only be used to enter ACT events.

JUMP HEIGHT DIVISIONS. Dogs may be entered at any of the following jump height divisions: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 inches.

OBSTACLES: All the obstacles will conform to the requirements in the current edition of the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials.

RV Parking is allowed at the show site by reservation only. Limited number of electric hookups are available for $25 per night and $10 per night without hookups. Reservations required for all overnight parking, with or without hookups. See Page 6 for RV Reservation Form.

Such requests must include a veterinarian’s note and be received by the trial secretary no later than ½ hour prior to the start of the first class of the day of the trial. After the close of Pre-Entries, a processing fee of $5.00 will be withheld from refunds for bitches entered in each her classes.

Dogs may be entered in any jump height. There is no Regular or Preferred distinction at AKC’s ACT events.

In order to acquire the ACT1 or ACT2 title certificate and have the title added to a dog’s record, the dog must be registered/listed with the American Kennel Club. AKC Canine PartnersSM applications may be accepted at the event and submitted to AKC with the event’s results.

Dogs that are not AKC registered/listed may be registered at a later date and receive their ACT title at that time.

Dogs listed in the AKC Canine PartnersSM program should be listed as All American Dog and must include their AKC number on the entry form and check the AKC No. box.
