Middle Years news Newsletter No 27 Term 3 September 9, 2019 Principals Report Student Led Conferences Student Led Conference bookings are now open. They will take place on Wednesday 18 th September. Please check the times available on the online booking system. www.schoolinterview.com Booking code: 2v55a NAPLAN Results NAPLAN results have arrived at Wodonga Middle Years College. If your child participated in NAPLAN this year they will bring home a printed Individual Student Report and other supporting material this week. NAPLAN provides a snap shot of your childs achievement at a point in time. The report should be considered along with other school based assessments. School Dental Program Next week the school dental program will visit the school. Consent forms will go home this week. Parents can elect to have their childs teeth checked and any minor dental work carried out. This is a cost free service. Maree Cribbes Campus Principal State School Spectacular On Wednesday the 4th of September we received a cheque from Rotary Club of Albury Wodonga Sunrise to help with the students going to The State School Spectacular next week. A huge thankyou to Rotary for their help in getting us to Melbourne. Indigenous Literacy Week On Wednesday the 4th of August our college celebrated Indigenous Literacy Week. Students participated in a range of activities including cultural artwork and face painting. Thanks to all our wonderful students who helped organise, cook and deliver the session. Also a massive thankyou to our KESOs Tammy and Rosie who supported our students and staff to celebrate this event. Esports Team Our E-Sports team have been sacrificing their lunch times for some vigorous training in preparation for the interschool eSports competition that will be held early next term.

TAFE Presentation On Thursday our Year 8 Felltimber students were lucky to have Kelly and Trina from Wodonga TAFE talk about future pathways and some courses that they offered. The students got the opportunity to participate in a Q&A which is always very informative.

Careers

Koorie Art Exhibition Students from both Huon and Felltimber have been learning how to paint in a traditional aboriginal art style. These paintings are now on show in the Eddie Kneebone Gallery at Wodonga Tafe. Opening hours are 10am to 3pm on weekdays until Friday, 13th of September.

White Card WSSC

A number of students from Felltimber went to WSSC on Wednesday to complete their Construction Induction Card in preparation for their transition to WSSC next year.
