DNA of Fire Investigations “Sword Or Shield”

“The DNA of Fire Investigations – NFPA 921 – Sword or Shield ” This program utilizes visually compelling fire cases to illustrate effective forensic fire investigations. The discussion evolves to the discussion of the evaluation of the expert and their findings. The insurance claims professional’s responsibilities extend beyond the technical ability to resolve issues of: coverage, liability and damages. The process of investigation, evaluation and resolution is one that relies on good judgment to discharge their contractual re-sponsibilities to their customers. The insurance claims professional’s responsibilities include the demanding challenge of evaluating the technical abilities of ex-perts. The investigation, evaluation and resolution of coverage, liability and damages require good judgment to discharge their contractual responsibilities to their customers. They aren’t ex-pected to be experts. They are expected to use good judgment in evaluating experts.

2015 CCNC “Hot August Claims” Sizzles! The 22nd annual Claims Conference of Northern California, held back at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Sacramento, sizzled in delivering continuing education credits for insurance claims people. Over the course of two-plus days August 10-12, 2015, including an opening Monday afternoon session, attendees experienced a vibrant setting for learning, networking, and more. Special Keynote Speaker, Ulises Castellon, CPCU RPA, opened the main event Tues-day morning with an in-depth “Lord of the Rings-themed” look at the career path of an adjuster, and the passing of the torch to the next generation, entitled “The Ring of Power”.Three concurrent tracks of workshop ses-sions were then interspersed with general sessions, exhibitor tradeshow breaks, and a rockin’ casino night. Attendance appeared stronger than the past couple of years, with a balanced dispersion of folks throughout the various sessions. Produced each year by the joint efforts of representatives of seven (7) “Sponsoring Associations”, the CCNC has long been a stalwart resource for continuing education.
