One of SDCMSF’s leading initiatives is to increase healthcare access for medically underserved patients in San Diego County. As a part of this initiative, SDCMSF has launched a program in the community called Project Access San Diego (PASD). PASD is a community-based program that coordinates donated medical care and services provided by physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, and others for uninsured, low-income San Diego County residents. ABOUT THIS POSITION PASD’s chief recruitment officer (CRO) will act as the lead for building relationships with PASD physician volunteers. The CRO is responsible for identifying physician volunteers in each of the high-need specialty areas, educating physicians about PASD, and obtaining participation commitments. This director position is part time (8–12 hours per week) and volunteer (stipend may be available). MAJOR DUTIES Work with PASD executive director and chief medical officer to identify high-need specialties. Develop strategies to reach out and educate physicians on PASD. Meet with physicians and provide information about PASD. Reply to inquiries related to participation in PASD. Act as a representative and champion for PASD. Obtain commitments for participation from physicians. Track meetings and report on progress to executive director. IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal CRO will be someone who has practiced in San Diego County and is recently retired or reducing his or her number of working hours. The CRO will use his or her relationships with various physician communities to create opportunities for education and recruitment. This is a volunteer position with a potential stipend available and an expected commitment of 8–12 hours per week.
