Getting Started

• A PowerPoint presentation is simply a collection of slides, each of which must be created individually.

• PowerPoint provides a set of “AutoShapes” which are easily manipulated within the drawing.

• Squares, circles, ovals, connectors, graphs, tables.

Putting It All Together

• To create the presentation, simply add each of the new (or existing) slides to a presentation!

• The slides can be rearranged at any time using either the window to the left of the main screen or from view > slide sorter.

• Run the show from slide show > view show.

Advanced Features

• Control presentation “style” and consistency by setting the first “master page”.

• Slide transitions may be animated through slide show > slide transition.

• Sounds may also be added to the transition within that menu.

More Advanced Features

• Individual lines within a slide can be animated through slide show > custom animations.

• Sound can be added to these events within the same menu.

• Control of the timing of these events is also offered on this menu.

Communicating with the AS\400

• AS\400 files to be included in a presentation must be transferred from the AS\400 to a PC on the network.

• Easily accomplished through the command line of the AS\400.

• Menu driven access to file information can be provided.
