Welcome to CatalystMicrosoft is proud to be among the region’s top corporate philanthropists,

and we want to share our insights. Each quarter, Catalyst Magazine highlights

an issue and some of the best Bay Area nonprofit organizations working to

address it.

In this edition we return to the theme of workforce development and

training—a critical ingredient in the mix that leads to a healthy community,

and one that will be important as our economy recovers.

The nonprofits profiled in this issue work with a broad range of individuals

in different fields, but the organizations all share a deep commitment to the

people they serve. They know, as we at Microsoft do, that when an individual

is in a stable job, one that they are prepared for and can take pride in, the

benefits extend beyond the individual, to their families and communities.

We are pleased to support the efforts of these exceptional nonprofits, and

to share their exciting work with you.
