Linking Form to a table• Click on the Create tab, and within Form group click on the Form Design
button.• This will Create a new form in Design View.• Within the Tools group, click on the Property Sheet button.• This will display the Property Sheet window on the right side of the
screen.• In the Property Sheet window, under Data tab click on the Record Source
and select a table from drop down list, i.e. select TblStudents.
• This will link the Form to the table TblCustomer.

Placing controls on the form
• Click on the Create tab and within the Tools group, click on the Add Existing Fields button.
• A Field List window will be displayed on the right side, showing all the available fields that can be added on this form.
• In this Field List window, click and drag fields to the form.

Aligning controls on a form
• Select all of the controls on the Form.• Right click on any of these selected controls.• From the popup menu, click on the Align.• Under Align click on the Left command.• It will align all the controls to the left based on
the control which is on the extreme left side.

Sizing to fit controls on a form
• Sizing to fit adjust the height and width of the controls automatically.
• Select all the controls on the Form.• Right click on any of these selected controls.• From the popup menu, click on the Size.• Under Size click on the To Fit command.

Placing a bound control on the form
• In the Property Sheet window, under Data tab click on the Record Source and select a table from drop down list, i.e. select TblCourses.

• Click on the Create tab.• Within Controls group click on the Check Box
and then click on the Detail section of the form to place the Check Box control on the form.

Split forms
• A Split form is a new feature in Microsoft Office Access 2007 that gives you two views of your data at the same time — a Form view and a Datasheet view.
• Click on the Create tab, and within Form group click on the Split Form button.

Creating a report
• Click on the Create tab, and within Reports group click on the Report Wizard button.
• This will open the Report Wizard dialog box.

• Click on the Arrange tab and within AutoFormat group click on the AutoFormat drop down button.

Sub Reports
• Click on the Design tab, and within Controls group click on the Sub Report button.
• Click on the Detail section of the report to place the sub report on the main report.
• This will open the SubReport Wizard dialog box.

What is a Switchboard
• Switchboards are the screens used to navigate around a database and perform tasks, such as running reports.
• The switchboard is made of buttons that you click. You can program these buttons to open forms, reports, queries, etc.
