Events SBI World Championships
The week of November 9th, I attended the SBI World Championships in Key West, FL. A group of us, including Mayor Meer, traveled to Key West in hopes of marketing Michigan City and promoting the boat races that take place in August every year. It was a good trip and we heard a lot of positive feedback about our venue and events associated with the race. The end goal is to help grow our event with more boats and spectators.

Course Maintenance
Due to the excellent weather we experienced during the past several months, the
maintenance staff continued to provide somewhat “normal” maintenance activities. It
became necessary to mow the putting greens, tees and fairways throughout the month of
December.
Special Projects
Gariup Construction started mobilizing their equipment and supplies for the Culvert and
Water Control Structure Replacement Project
With the assistance of City Forester Frank Seilheimer, we received (2) bids for the tree
removal project. Both bids came in “under” the available funding amount. The Park
Board is expected to award the contract at their 1/6/16 meeting.

Irrigation
The North Course irrigation system was winterized on 11/16/15
The South Course irrigation system was winterized on 11/17/15 and 11/18/15
Both pump stations were winterized on 11/19/15
Weather
We experienced exceptionally good weather during the late fall months. After receiving
the first measurable snowfall of the season on November 21st, temperatures increased
nicely. We had many players enjoying our facility even after the Christmas holiday.
