UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY IN MOTORSPORT

HOW IT ALL STARTED Coincidentally during a holiday in the South of France. A lot of racing drivers, start racing because it’s a family thing, but that wasn’t my reason. I have always been some kind of a tomboy - never wore a dress or played with Barbie dolls. Crazy things always had to happen, so we thought that go-kart at that time, would be the best sport for me to do. However, as time went on, I took it step by step and at the age of 17 I had already travelled all over the world driving on different go-kart tracks. I took part in Europe-an and World Championship every year as well as other high-levelled championship series. My next step was the Formula Ford Championship in Denmark, where I won the rookie championship, and became the first female ever to win a round in a For-mula Ford Championship. I finished the championship in third place.

Porsche Junior Selection I have been invited to participate in Porsche’s yearly junior program towards the end of 2013, which takes on six drivers who have been followed for a period in their racing career and assessed on how they have progressed during that period. Here again I was the first girl ever to take part in such a professional program. The first step of the program was taking place at Potsdam University, where interviews, physical and health tests were conducted. Due to my good results, they’ve invited me to proceed to step two. Step two was a driving test at Oschersleben Motorpark, where only four of the six drivers got the chance to participate, including myself. . Unfortunately, I did not finish the program as the final winner receiving the funding of 150.00 euros, but I’ve definitely demonstrated to them that a female race driver can bring top potential, and in return they had promised that they would keep an eye on me for the future.

FIA Young Driver Academy I have been selected for the European FIA Young Driver Academy selection as the only girl. The selection took place during three days, where top professional people checked us from top to toe. On the third and final day, they had a final test only for 6 of the 29 drivers, who had impressed them the most. I’ve managed to get myself in the top 6 drivers and finished with fastest lap time during the driving test of all of the 6 drivers. Alexander Wurz (former formula 1 driver, and now racing Le Mans with Toyota) commented afterwards; ”She beat 29 upcoming top talents, on a selective track in a car she had no experience in. So time will come and we will have a top performing girl in Formula 1”.

FIA Women In Motorsport Won the FIA Women In Motorsport shoot-out in 2011, a competition with the 10 best girls from all over the world. Normally the shoot-out should only take one day, but because 2 other girls, including me were so close in times, they had to extend it over two days, + an additional day 3 weekends later. During the last test, I achieved the fastest lap time ever, which gave me a free season in the Scirocco R Cup 2012 paid by Volkswagen Motorsport, and supported by FIA Women In Motorsport. As a result of my successes in the first year (2012), I was taken on for another year in the cup 2013. FIA Women In Motorsport, will be supporting me again support in 2014, not financially but with their brand name - FIA. The president of FIA Women In Motorsport, is Michéle Mouton, who is the first woman ever to win a world rally championship.
