Kerins Ph: 020 8672 5874 TWELFTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (A) 25th June 2017 Our Scripture readings for this Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time call us to preach Christ through our words and lives without fear. The first reading tells us how the prophet Jeremiah trusted in the power of God while he faced opposition for his prophetic ministry. The psalmist in todays Responsorial Psalm (Ps 69) repeats the same trust in the kindness and great mercy of God when he is misunderstood and ill-treated even by his brothers and relatives. In the second reading, Paul assures the Christians in Rome that they need not be afraid of opposition both because they share in the death of Jesus and his Resurrection and because they are united with Christ, the new Adam, in his Resurrection. Todays Gospel passage is taken from the end of Jesusinstruction to his disciples as he sends them forth to carry on his mission of preaching and healing. Our Scripture readings for this Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time call us to preach Christ through our words and lives without fear. The first reading tells us how the prophet Jeremiah trusted in the power of

God while he faced opposition for his prophetic ministry. The psalmist in today’s Responsorial Psalm (Ps 69) repeats the same trust in the kindness and great mercy of God when he is misunderstood and ill-treated even by his brothers and relatives. In the second reading, Paul assures the Christians in Rome that they need not be afraid of opposition both because they share in the death of Jesus and his Resurrection and because they are united with Christ, the new Adam, in his Resurrection. DAY WITH JESUS Next one is on Saturday 8th July. An opportunity to join in prayer for you and your family. Morning Prayer, Devotions and Adoration starts from 9.15am. Mass at 11am followed by Anointing & Prayers over people. You all are encouraged to join in prayer.

CONFIRMATIONS 2018 Application for next year’s confirmations has started, if anyone wish to join the Programme, please do collect a form from the Porch , fill in and give to a priest or drop to the Presbytery. Programme starts on Saturday 7th October 2017 and the Confirmations will be on Sunday 11th February 2018. Full programme details are attached with the form. Those who will be starting year 8 & above in September 2017 are eligible to apply.

FIRE MARSHALS / CROWD MANAGERS

As our Parish family is growing and in the wake of recent incidents in London, we need Fire Marshals/ Crowd Managers at Masses. Parish request you to volunteer to this ministry in the Church. Training will be given. If you are willing, please put down your name in the sheet which can be

found in the Porch.

TOMASZ MARGOL Tomasz has gone back to the Seminary. He has conveyed his gratitude to all of you for your love and support to him. We will have a collection for him next weekend as our gift in appreciation of his hard work here.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS Please continue to keep in your prayers all the eighty boys and girls who will receive their First Holy Communion. Congratulations to the first group who received their first communion on last Sunday. The second is on this Sunday 25th June and the last group is next week Sunday 2nd July at the 10.30am Mass.

TRAINING FOR NEW MCs We have ten new MCs. All those who are chosen are requested to come for a training session on Saturday 8th July at 4pm in the Church. Many thanks

YOUTH CLUB LAST DATE The last date this term before the Youth Club closes for the summer is 7.15pm Friday 7th July when a BBQ has been planned.

CONFIRMATION PHOTOS The confirmation group photographs cost £4.50 each and are available from the Church Shop.

GIFT AID SCHEME For existing members there are a number of uncollected GA envelopes’ boxes in the Presbytery. Please do collect them as the

new envelopes came into use from 4th June or speak to a priest after the Mass. Thank you.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT MEETING

The next informal gathering is scheduled on Saturday 1st, 15th and 29th July and 19th August at 3pm in the presbytery. If anyone is going through bereavement, any kind of loss, separation, difficulty in relationships, depression, addiction, etc. and wishes to get one to one support, please do contact Fr Shaju. We are happy to provide counselling.

ALTAR SERVERS SUMMER BREAK From Tuesday 8th—Friday 11th August in Woldingham. This is an excellent few days for boy & girl servers aged 10-15years. For more details, see notice board or contact Fr Stephen Boyle at 01322 220075.

EARLY REMINDER: PARISH DAY We are celebrating our Parish Day & 110th Anniversary of the dedication of our Church on SUNDAY 10th SEPTEMBER. The celebrations will take place after the 12.00pm Mass with a BBQ, entertainment and games for the children. It will be a day for all the Parish family to celebrate together the life of the Parish.

SPANISH LESSONS Every Tuesday from 4pm – 5pm in the Youth Club access via the Function Suite entrance. The present batch of children will completed the course on Tuesday 4th July. All the children and parents are invited to the distribution of the certificate and a party in the Hall on Sunday 9th July after 10.30am Mass.

BAPTISMAL PREPARATION PROGRAMME

Takes place on the last Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm in the Presbytery and a prerequisite for any christening. The next programme is on this Tuesday 27th June.
