Difference between Pop and R&B

• Pop music has exited since America’s early years but mainly as parlor songs and minstrel show tunes.

• Tin Pan Alley, Ragtime, and Broadway music were the earliest forms of American Pop.

• Pop today has more of an Indie vibe meaning it is more layed back and care free while R&B is more upbeat smooth jazz.
